what should we do about map glitcher and other.....

Post » Wed Jul 10, 2013 10:01 am

hey everyone so i'm in between thoughts right now on weather we should be reporting people abusing glitches/hacks in game.

i know are communities are small so i really don't want to get any1 banned. but at the same time its not fair to the rest of the players to have to deal with these guys. for pc players they can just kick the person from the server and move on, but on console your not able to do this. all you can do is report'em.

there are 2 main types of glitch/hack abuse that i see on console:

1. map glitch abuse
2.LS'ing(lag switching) as LS is hard to tell when someone is doing it do to the bad lag in in most games. people that have been playing MP games for a while can usually tell the difference. but i won't lie crysis 3 is probable the hardest game to tell weather this is going on or not.

anyways i just wanted to know what you guys think about this. and weather or they should be reported.

If Crytek actually banned map glitchers from matchmaking, it would be great if we could report the glitchers. I doupt that Crytek will do anything to them though because it's not cheating.

As a good thing, you can report UK players from lag switching and give them a funny visit to prison. If I recall correctly, lag switching is illegal in UK and it can actually cause jail time for up to ten years! :D

wow really jail time for ls'ing that's insane. i didn't think that could happen. i figured if and company wanted to they could sue the person for violating user agreement(if they wanted to go that far) but they just ban the person.

Apologies, detail edited. Thank you for the cautious reply, but such topics are not for open forum.

You wont get any sympathy from me that's for sure. Putting map glitching and blatant hacking into the same category really is pretty insane. They are totally different things.

Calling them glitches also really annoys me a lot. Just because some players cant get to these areas of interest, they immediately call you a hacker for doing so and that really really irritates me a lot. All they are, are minor boundaries in the game that were missed by the devs. With the complexity of the construction of this game, even the best devs will miss a small detail like that when your under pressure from EA to get the money machine rolling.

Stop complaining about it and just shoot them if its such a big deal.. Is it really that hard. All snipers, whether it be bow, dsg or gauss will use them if they can. So take them out.. its not rocket science.

don't get me wrong i can handle the map glitchers, as well i can play against people that ls and hack pretty well too, but it doesn't mean its fare to all players.

either way map glitching, hacking, and/or modifying your Ethernet cabling(LS'ing) is all cheating and that is way i put them together in this topic.

Don't really agree there. One is using an existing hidden feature in the game, and the other one is a deliberate hack. using a "glitch" in game is no different from using OP loadouts or weapons imo, only difference is it helps to be a good sniper to take full advantage. I could easily argue that standing on top of a vtol is a glitch too, because not everyone knows how to get up there. But is it really hurting anyone? The answer is no its not. There are far more, more important things to be concerned about in this game instead of minor map glitches.

But I have the opposite to the LS'ing hack you talk about. I have constant time lag/delay, and no matter what my ping is, its always the same... up to 1-2 secs of time difference between me and another player, and its the same if I am playing with AUS players or High pingers.. always extremely hard.

valid points made with feeling differently about each type of abuse. maybe i should break the poll down more, so opinions can be spread between map glitching, hacks, and ls'ing.

Yeah that's a good idea... I am very much against hacks/cheats, but feel more relaxed about using unusual features in the game.
