What should I do for post-"Take it Back!" on PS3?

Okay... so 30 hours, 15 levels and a good handful of side quests into the game and I'm up to Take It Back. Unfortunately, not being the type to spoil the story for myself in a game and seek information about quests prior to taking them, I had NO that the game ended the way it does without Broken Steel.

I bought only the vanilla edition of the game because of how notorious the DLC is for being unreliably freeze-prone... and being onto my 6th console in 2 years I wasn't about to take any chances. I'd love to get the benefit of having Broken Steel for after the quest, so I'm wondering if I should pick up the add-on.

What I wanted to know is if I'm justified in my paranoia about the DLC freezing, or if I've been mislead and it's worth picking up. I haven't had many freezing issues with the game, save for during sessions that last 2 hours of longer.

(TL;DR)
So, what's the general consensus for PS3 players? Is the DLC stable whilst playing on a slim console, and are there any precautions I should take to avoid freezing with it? With those questions in mind, should I be buying Broken Steel, all the add-ons, or should I just grab the GOTY edition?

First, I'd just like to say that, if you're up to Take it Back! and have only a level 15 character and hae only spent 30 hours playing time, then you really haven't experienced Fallout 3. Let me explain: Getting to the last mission of the Main Quests at only level 15 would suggest to me that you have missed many, many Side Quests and many, many, many areas of exploration.
My advice to you would be to forget about Take it Back! for a while, and go and explore the DC Wasteland completely. The Side Quests are what make Fallout 3 worth playing ... they are WAY better than the Main Quest.
Without Broken Steel, if you now do Take it Back!, you'll have to start a new game to experience the bits of the Wasteland you've missed. Do you know that there are well over a hundred marked locations in the DC Wasteland, not counting DLC locations?
Believe me, you're only experiencing about 40% of the game by doing the Main Quests. If that's what you want, fine, but you'll be missing the adventure of your life!

Second, yes, get Broken Steel .... the extra 10 levels give more longevity to the game and the extra Quests are a lot of fun. :foodndrink:
