What's skill(s) to focus on now?

Post » Wed Jan 07, 2009 4:43 am

Just hit rank 25 and my Energy weapons, Guns, Lockpick, Repair, and Sneak are at 100, and I think I'll focus on Science. What do you guys think?

Edit: I'm on my iPod so expect typos.

Science and medicine fit the bill.
So yes I'd go with what your head is telling you imo.
Or if an assassin / spy type go explosives as well.

I have my medicine at 50 but haven't really increased it in awhile, so yeah I'll probably stick to medicine and science, and maybe explosives because I do use some explosives sometimes.

If you're playing in Hard Core mode Survival is always worth bumping up. Mmmmmm Gecko kebabs and Bloatfly Sliders ;)

Medicine, survival and science are others I find very useful.

Speech, however, makes the game dramatically easier (far less running around for stupid crap when you can just talk people into doing what you want).

Funnily I have not taken speech on half my 9+ characters.
One because it was a raider build, the other because I dropped charisma for role and I dislike the whole drop C and tag speech idea that is common now'a days.
The rest just because they were not chatty.
So far I say speech is sooo over rated, a few fights can be avoided with it.
Mostly however it eats up a chunk of fun quest stuff and other bonuses that you miss, just for an XP reward.

I usually run my Barter skill up to around 70 or so, just hate getting ripped off by the vendors (both selling and buying). Roving trader hat + outfit helps that out a bit too.
