What if Skyrim Bombs?

Post » Sun Jun 27, 2010 2:55 am

If it bombs I will not buy it a month after release for 1/2 price like I planned and just wait for Fallout 4. GOGO shotgun justice!

What if F4 flops?

I think everybody would grab Pitchforks and try to summon an Oblivion gate outside the Rockville Md office if Skyrim truly bombed.

get off these forums~ :obliviongate:

thats not very friendly

ontopic: even if SK bombs (and that is a relative term, bombs in sales because of reasons other than the quality? or if it is just not very good) if its because its not very good the TES moding communty is fairly experienced now and I have not doubt that should a TES game ever be a horrible game that title will likly become a platform for modders to make a communty made game based just on mods that make it what it should have been.

I have faith in Bethesda that they will produce a decent game, but I also know they are not infallible.

I have no doubt I'll be modding the heck out of it regardless, but if it is REALLY bad, I'll probably look elsewhere.

big MW fan i hate infinity ward but activision..people that made MW and MW2.. are great. have you seen Battlefield 3 trailer. the graphics look incredible and the interactive environment is one thing that MW can never have i don't know which to get
Back to Skyrim
Skyrim is the game i have been looking forward to forever its been since 2007 and i am like a lot of other gamers out there so you might want to take the last option off cuz it disproves the subject. i would never be disapponted with a TES game they have spent 5 years on this.. that is unheard of. Their level of detail is rediculous, every single leaf is cut out on its own to move freely in the wind, you knowhow long that would take, this game can never be disappointing

Not to go off-topic here but Infinity Ward made MW and MW2. Activision is the publsiher, not the developer.
Anyways,I've never been disappointed by Bethesda so I doubt it'll bomb. (for me at least)

Its not going to. Have faith in the devs. To add to this we should be glad that we have something to look forward to.
Corrections...
I havent seen or heard of any reliable news of Modern Warfare 3.
Battlefield 3 is done by DICE a europeon company not infinity ward.

The most I'd be worried about is it being glitchy, I got Fallout New Vegas the day it came out and it was glitchy as heck, but there can always be patches!

MW3 has a site now, actually. Saw it yesterday. Google it if you care.

On topic, I'm sure it'll be great fun no matter how it turns out. One good thing about Beth is they don't make promises like, say, Molyneaux and his team do. Any feature that isn't going to make it all the way there isn't going to be advertised beforehand (excepting Oblivion, but that stuff was made, they just had to cut back to make it work on the new Xbox), so everything we've seen in stuff so far will be in, I'm sure. Thu'um, dual wielding, the 'classless' system and the whole perk thing are all going to happen as they said they will, or better. Have faith, folks!

EDIT: As Gra Varg said, the biggest worry should probably stability and glitches.

Obsidian glitched out New Vegas, not BGS.

Do you mean bomb sales-wise or quality-wise (I only read the title)? Either way, it won't. What was the point of this thread? To prove how awesome Skyrim truly is? I think it speaks for itself; I don't see the need for a thread asking a ridiculous question that prompts a general concensus to the contrary. Skyrim is the bomb that will destroy all other competing games, in my opinion. :whistling:

If Skyrim doesn't meet my expectations? Then I make/install mods until it does. :)

If it svcks, I'll play Forza 4 or Duty. Although I'm sick of Duty, sick of all games as of late for some odd reason...

Given the information so far I can't really see Skyrim not being my favourite game in the series.

It won't. It could be poorly-received by certain markets as Oblivion and Fallout 3 were but the Olympic-sized swimming pool that I'm sure the Bethesda offices house will remain just as deep as it ever was, and the lifeguard on duty will continue to just grab a wad of bills as his daily paycheck.

There is no way in hell Skyrim could possibly be worse than Oblivion, considering how Oblivion focused almost entirely on graphical upgrades. smoother combat, a physics engine, and a broken leveling system. All of which are being upgraded on Skyrim, and some. The varied environments are a plus, and the new leveling system is a radical difference, which is very risky. If that bombs, then it's still better than Oblivion. If they get it right, then we may very well have the greatest tes game of all time.
Another thing to consider is, of course, modifying the game to perfection. Oblivion has some absolutely incredible modifications from different creatures and armor to new cities altogether. There are too many to mention, but there is no reason why Skyrim can't be an amazing experience, regardless how well it's received on day one.
