What if Skyrim was delayed.

Post » Mon Oct 04, 2010 6:04 pm

I usually don't mind delays, but 11/11/11 seems like too good of a date to pass up. There's significance in that day, and I'm sure they've set up enough extra time past their expected completion date, just in case there is cause for a "delay". For all we know, the game could be ready by this summer, but 11/11/11 has too high a level of importance to pass up.

I would rather see it delayed a month or so than released with game breaking bugs.
I wouldnt mind it.

No biggie. I'd just replay Fable 3 for the 4th time and be glad that Bethesda is even bothering to bring their own game up to such an established pedigree.

Ask to be put into a coma until it is released.

what if its going to happen? i thought it was a forgone conclusion.
anyway this is a very busy year for gaming, i'm sure i could live the extra few months to a year it will take for Bethesda to actually finish the game.

Mass suicides and world wide rioting... No pressure for the devs.

Late games are far better than unfinished ones.

For example, I would have prefered a delayed Oblivion with Sutch as a complete city and county, and with horse armors...

In fact, I hope it'll be delayed, provided the delay afford the devs the opportunity to make the game more comprehensive, bug-free, and endowed with a greater gameplay. Every second spent making things better is worth being waited...

Doubtful it would happen. If it did, I probably would come close to crying since there is no game I'm anticipating more than Skyrim. Its already a long wait.

Delayed or not, I at least will hopefully have The Old Republic and Mortal Kombat to keep me going until launch.

Dont jinx it :stare:

Like people have said, i will be disappointed and wait anxiously, but the bottom vote option is only if the game was axed.

Pretend I was surprised... which is what I actually will be if I see it in stores 11/11.

No big deal, Shogun 2 Total War is going to consume most of my game time this year.

I managed to wait this long, so I can wait a few months more. Better than having another New Vegas (though I never experienced any problems on PC)

Yeah and I do doubt they will miss out in a date like 11.11.11...

Although I'm pretty sure suicide won't come into play, I would be a little disappointed with a delay. I am thinking that part of the reason they waited so long to announce the game, was to prevent overhyping it. I would think waiting until less than a year from the release date to announce the date would mean they are well on track to hitting that date. From the previews I have read, it seems like the game is quite far along for having another 10 months of dev time remaining. I remember spending over two years on these forums while waiting for Oblivion. I'm really glad they waited this long to announce Skyrim, as I don't think I could have handled another two year wait!

Gun to the head. I have no illusion that the game will be perfect or bug free. Delaying to fix the bugs and polish things usually reveals more bugs and more things to polish. Just release it on 11/11/11 and I'm happy.

What would I do? Halo:Reach, COD: BO, DA2, Dead Space 2, BFBC2, Star Wars Battlefront 3 is supposed to come out this year ( :celebration: ) ummmm Ace Combat Assault Horizon, GOW3, LOTR War in the North, Spec Ops: The line. Between all those and school AND my social life I'll be plenty busy. I'd be okay if it was delayed, and the game would be better for it!

No biggie. Bethesda needs their time to perfect this game, so I'd wait.

We all now that these huge epic games we all want from the second it get announced have a tendency to get delayed. So what would you do if Skyrim suddenly was delayed for another 4 months?

Not get it for another 4 months.

Mind you I plan on waiting anyway- until the Gold/GotY/whatever version comes out so I can get the whole game +patches and not just "episode 1, raw and unpatched" given the way such things go these days. So, it's not really like it'd make much difference at all to me.

If it's going to be delayed that's fine, I would get sad for sure but at the same time I could be happy that the game is getting more time for development.
If the game was cancelled on the other hand then I'd go with the "Gun to head" option.

[No matter how much I anticipate a game, it's just a game.

I'd rather have it late and include as many RP systems as possible then have it on time missing key systems. MN would have been a better game if they had more time to flesh out exploration for example.

No big deal

I'd rather a game be delayed to focus on ironing out bugs and glitches, opposed to one released without focus on ironing which results in you literally pay $60+ for bugs, glitches, headache, fustration, rage etc.

If, by chance, it gets delayed, I will wait until it is released, then buy it :)
