I want to record some in-game footage, but do not know which software is the best.

Any recommendation?

Fraps, though it records uncompressed, so be sure to have plenty of hard disk space.

Or reduce the resolution of the video output to make smaller files.

Is there any good free software to encode (in 720p-1080p and good/excellent quality) the videos you record? I use FRAPS to record, and a trial version of TMPGenc to encode it (which has expired....that's why I'm asking :( ).

Extra thumbs up if it's relatively easy to use.
