I'll be using my trusty old 360, when or rather if I get a computer that is capable of playing Skyrim, I'll obviously be using it.

That's the lamest excuse I've ever heard and sadly is very common... You CAN plug a PC to a TV and it will have better definition than a console.
And also the "I don't like to play with keyboard and mouse" excuse is stupid since you can play on the PC with a 360 controller.

Well, another excuse is that much of us don't have great computers that could support Skyrim.
I think most console players would gladly switch to a PC, but don't have the PC that would allow them.

Thus is why I'm getting a new PC at Christmas time.

Obviously on the PC, but will probably have to upgrade some of my parts to be able to run the game on high settings.

Could I use my 7.1 surround sound on a PC? I'm being sincere because I honestly don't know and I know the 360 can't do 7.1.

All depends on your sound output. If it'll output 7.1, sure. You'd have to look up whether your motherboard (if you're using onboard sound) or sound card supports 7.1 to find out.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d4/TurboGrafx-16-Console.jpg, the way Skyrim was MEANT to be played.

can hardly fathom anyone other then me playing that system...that is to say I've never met another person who's heard of it until now.

I love how both of you are over-compensating by mentioning big-screen TVs....

Back on topic, yes it's funny all that over-compensating. I'll be flat out honest I'm playing it on a console because I prefer the controls and collecting achievements/trophies, playing it on a PS3 because my 360 betrayed me by dieing (and always tearing up my disc), and I'm not going to play on a PC yet because I need a new computer which will cost me a small fortune.

Not to mention, if you play on PC you get real 1080p, as opposed to 580p stretched to 1080p or whatever the hell most 360 games render at. So if you plug your PC into your HDTV, you're REALLY getting every bit of use out of it.

No time or money to upgrade my PC and mess with mods. All I need is my xbox, couch, big TV, and a big beer when I can find some time to play.

PC of course.

I'm going to lie back on my couch and experience Skyrim enhanced with mods and maxed out with my 42" FullHD telly and Tannoy soundsystem.

I see no reason to get any consoles in the near future.

I wish I had an awesome PC to play it on, but I'm satisfied with the old 360.

Some posts went away - if you all can keep from slagging different platforms or each other, then the topic can remain open.

Well, if it's boring, you can skip a repeat thread. There will be more, nature of the forums.
