Well, another excuse is that much of us don't have great computers that could support Skyrim.
I think most console players would gladly switch to a PC, but don't have the PC that would allow them.
Thus is why I'm getting a new PC at Christmas time.
I have no doubt my PC would be more than capable of playing Skyrim and Zeta16 (I can get my reply to do multi-quote for some reason) gave some very good points that overcome 2 of my 3 biggest objections to playing it on my PC (controller & big HDTV), but for me it's number 3 that clinches it, with the win going to the Xbox.
Objection #3 - It's a Bethesda game!That means it will occupy
every waking minute of my life for looooonnngggg time.
Therefore, I need to be sitting on my memory foam bed, with lots of pillows to prop my soon-to-be aching arms from playing 30 hours STRAIGHT. There is no way I'm going to run a 40ft cord from my office to my bedroom HDTV, nor sit on my far less comfortable couch, nor monopolize the living room and it's HDTV since I have a roommate. Now if my PC and internet were hooked up in my bedroom I would truly have to consider going with the PC.
Plus I think I really do prefer gaming on my Xbox and the BIG bonus is when I finally pass out from exhaustion, I'm already in bed
