What system will you be buying Skyrim for?

You should change the voting system to boxes, because I am going to buy it for both the Xbox (graphics) and PC (mods).

Jeez, I wish computer parts here on Brazil were about the same price there, a GTX580 here is about $1200. Damn, you gotta have money to build such a powerful rig.

1200? oh my, at online computer stores I saw it half that price (500-600). Sadly, I still haven't seen any 5xx series card in a store here in Spain. That stuff always gets a little late, don't know why (it doesn't happen with any other PC component AFAIK).

And here, the CPU I've mentioned currently costs 240 euros, and I expect it's price to drop to less than 200 by October. And a GTX 460 costs 150 e....

I want both the PC and Xbox versions. If they make controllers somehow work as an optional way to play on the computer, I will play it only for the computer.

I'm sure there are tons of ways to connect your Xbox controller into your PC. Just Google it.

And yeah, just like you, they aren't available here officially, you can only find them in some stores that import it. Or websites similar to eBay.

Heck, I doubt they will come anyway, for instance, the PS2 (yes, TWO) was officially releaed here last year... I hate this damn country. Good thing I could buy my PS3 though, and if anything happens I can always buy Skyrim for it.

PC, of course. I'm already saving money to buy a new one in October, with a planned minimum of:

- 6-Core AMD Phenom II CPU, 3,2 ghz per core.

- 12 GBs DDR3 1333.

- Nvidia Geforce GTX 570-580 (aiming for 580, hopefully prices get dropped by October), 1,5 gbs GDDR5.

That hopefully will run Skyrim smoothly at 1680x1050, and maybe more :)

Go for DDR3 1600 with a good CAS latency, helps and doesn't really cost that much extra

Uhm no, noone said anything the other people wanting to buy it for the console. But this person says he wants the Xbox version for improved graphics and the PC for mods, implying he does infact have a PC capable of playing the game. Now you may say it may not be able to run it on more than minimum settings. But guess what, mods tend to lower the performance anyway, so I don't see that as any good reason.

Phenom II only supports as much as 1333, if I'm correct (I don't know for sure, I saw it on Wikipedia).

In any case, the modules I'm planning to buy (2x 6 gbs) are already 1600. But I'll probably change them, I don't know. The only thing I'm sure is that I'm going for 12 gbs. Massive open worlds like surely Skyrim is just demand that.

Why is it so hard to believe that his 360 actually runs games on higher graphics setting than his PC? I'd day that is the case for most people.

Yes, but none of them work quite the same way. There are almost always problems with the control sticks, and mods that need extra buttons can be a pain.

You didn't get it. It's funny how he mentioned he is getting the 360 version because of better graphics, which is ironic because the PC has superior graphics and everyone knows that. Not that his PC is weak...

If it doesn't have a method/type of DRM I oppose, I would buy it for the PC.

EDIT: using controllers on games that think MS XBox controllers are the only PC controllers that exist: http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/. Awesome stuff. Fixed my problems with Mirror's Edge, Trine, Overlord, and Rise of the Argonauts. About to test it with Darksiders soon.

I own 2 Xbox Slims (the 250 GB model ;-D ) so I'll be buying two copies when it is released. Actually I have both copies already reserved at Gamestop and they're all but paid for. lol My wife and I like to tag-team games, and we compete with each other on Elder Scrolls completion and a friendly "who's-character-would-win-in-a-fight" banter. lol It's pretty da** fun. If Skyrim has a 3D mode for the PS3 port I'll consider picking up an additional copy. Other than that I'll be buying the PC version. Maybe I'll steal my bro's xbox copy so I can get those achievements (I don't know why I care either).

As already said, it was funny because he listed Xbox as having superior graphics. Also, as I already stated, if he thinks his PC version can run mods well, I believe it would be able to run at atleast console settings.

Honestly, the 360 version of Oblivion looked like the PC version on medium, and with pretty short render distances: http://tamrielchronicles.com/screenshots/OblivionX25.JPG

No the CPU doesn't usually have much to do with memory support, that's up to the motherboard, so the Phenom IIs can support ddr3 1600 or any other speed that motherboards that can support them can support in memory speed which is currently at ddr3 2200 O.C.

(Also the rig I'm on now has a Phenom II and is using ddr3 1600)

Sega MegaDrive here :)

And my first computer was a Commodore 64.

Are you sure you're using DDR3 1600 running AT 1600? (aka, at it's full speed?).

Anyway, I'll get some more info, and surely I'll aim for 1600 (as I originally planned to do anyway :) ).

Xbox 360 on release. PC when GOTY version comes out.

Same for me. I enjoy playing the version that Beth makes on my 360 but later I will buy the PC GOTY so that I can add all the Mods I want and change things up a bit

Yes I'm sure, (now) I actually hadn't thought of checking until now :whistling: but CPUz confirmed that my memory is indeed running at 1600mhz
