I didn't even spend half of that for my current CPU (Intel Q6600), GPU (460GTX) and RAM (4GB). And I'm quite confident I will even be able to record the game in 1280x720 with 2x AA at 30fps (and play in FullHD at 60fps of course) with full details and most post-processing stuff (HDR & Bloom, Bump- & Parallax-Mapping et cetera).

im sorry you lost me after current. "point"
(look on pg 5 for mostly PC heavy fans attempting to rant after everyone who says 360 or ps3)

You can do that with a PC, hook up computer to TV with HDMI cable as you would with a console, buy a small desk for kb+m or use a 360 controller.

PC>All.

i hate when people say garbage like this...if you honestly knew how wrong you are

you at least slightly can based on your signature because the HDMI on the dx11 ati's has HD audio output....but your ati does not support dolby so that's one aspect you just failled to meet console hardware with
the x360 gamepad is usually not supported properly. afterall why would the aim bending and aim lock code be needed on pc? that's just going to be used and exploited by kb\m players we can't have that.
sitting on a couch using a keyboard and mouse is just lame...seriously if you think that's even slightly relaxing gameplay your a twisted person, i can lay down with a gamepad. the mouse doesn't work sideways

i've yet to find a videocard that actually supports tv's properly. maybe beacuse i'm yet to find a hdmi cable at a decent price that reaches my tv but so far resolution issues have hampered and ruined my experience thoroughly

the x360 at least auto updates and keeps everything nice and patched..hardware and software are always upto date. there is no install, dvd goes in and game starts. pc has gotten better in this regard. ati has drivers updated by steam, my creative fatality however can't be trusted with driver updates. few games patch themselves..steam has helped alot with that.

like i said two pages back i'm getting this one on pc. mostly because i have friends and family i'll be seeing online. i'll be using a gamepad as i feel movement will be key in this title, but your pc is NOT a gaming console. you can try but gaming hardware is designed for that purpose and will do it better with less hassle. (this is not an argument about gaming hardware performance just practicality, performance is moot as it costs more than developers are willing to spend to push pc's further than the consoles can go)

Ill admit that PC isn't an end all beat all platform (usually because of price), but one part where I would disagree is that you can hook up an HDTV quite easily if you set it up right. The first part is getting good quality cables. You can output Dolby sound with a dedicated sound card, and make sure to use an optical cable for really good audio quality. With a high quality GPU and a nice HDMI cable, the video looks fine as well.

sure you can do that. but it's not a "i feel like playing this from my couch" kind of deally.
i do have all the components but my hd5870 doesn't put dolby through. my fatlity sound blaster can but it undermines the whole effort behind finding a good hdmi cable that'll reach, if i then need a toslink as well. admittedly my xbox does use the double act you mentioned but thats a limitation of the rest of my gear. tv doesn't output the surround to the home theatre amp. home theatre amp doesn't accept hdmi or output video

i don't oppose that you can do it..i oppose when pc players tell people that wanting to sit at a couch and play games on console is an invalid arguament because you can sit at a couch and use a pc just as easily. unless your pc just "happens" to be a home theatre pc, it's not even close to the same thing.

i used to do that to watch movies from my harddrive. but media streaming from the console killed that outright. unless you have a media pc built it's more effort than reward to even bother. all it's achieveing then is to use your pc progress in a console environment. something that the various manufacturers could achieve on their own if they got over themselves for ten minutes. afterall i thought microsoft built xbox to get the microsoft OS into the console space....it's more segregated than ever.

You can get by with a lot less than a GTX 480, and I think you could get by with 2GB DDR3 RAM (4GB would be better) , but I would go for the best CPU in your price range, especially with Intel since its harder to upgrade with their sockets.

Well, the 400-series is a great new generation by Nvidia for quite a time. I would definately pick one of those or even a 500-series one, if there's enough money.
Also I'd wait for Intel to release some proper Sandy Bridge CPUs and for AMD's Bulldozer CPUs before buying one at all.

Yeah well bethesda just released an xbox only dlc for xbox. Or at least that's what people have said. And bethesda's the publisher.

A XBox only DLC for which game? Bethesda is also a developer, y'know?

I don't know why PC gamers talk down to console gamers, it's frikkin impossible to aim precisely on consoles, and if you can, you deserve a medal.
If you couldn't deduce from that, im getting it on PC, because i like server lists, aiming and the communities that come with being able to choose the server.

Mostly, because the PC is superior to consoles, but gets hold back by the consoles because their hardware doesn't keep up.

it's frikkin impossible to aim precisely on consoles, and if you can, you deserve a medal.

Well, I don't find it impossible, just different.

On the PC, your aiming comes almost exclusively from the mouse.
On consoles, your aiming requires a combination of both the left and right stick. If there is no exorbitant aim-assist, that is.

I would prefer the PC if there's dedicated servers and plans for a Dev kit in future release.

But I'll most likely rent/buy PS3 and 360 copies to play with my console buddies :D

Not many people care about the wii anymore, lol.

If I have not already posted in this thread, which I think I have, my PSN is DraciosV, just as my username here is.

I'll be lookin' for a party near the game's release. Although, maybe I can get more friends to convert.

I used to play PC FPS' all the time until I found out I can't compete whatsoever with the PC gaming community. Since this game is so heavily focused on MP I can't help buying it for 360. I also have a PS3 but there again, I can't get comfortable enough with the controller to be good enough to play online. Plus I'm trying to get all my friends on live to pick this game up

You could get a XCM Cross Battle Adapter if u have a wired xbox controller to use on the ps3.

I'd get it on PC but all of my pals play on 360, so I'm doing the same. I prefer the feel of a controller over a keyboard anyway.
