What System Will You Get Brink For?

Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 6:00 pm

I have 360 but being a FPS that requires some skills i think ill be getting it for the PC, i think is more accurate

i'm surprised how many people think kb/m will be the better control method for a game that's focused so heavily on movement rather than gunplay.

pc with an x360 gamepad for me. same as borderlands. accuracy will be less importnat if the players head height can change so rapidly between slides, vaults, jumps, rolls etc.

also always astonished my bethesda account continues working no matter how many years between posts

The shooting is still the focus of the game. Richard Ham likes calling SMART a "Sauce element". Sauces are intended to make the main dish taste better. Getting the movement system down perfect just allows you to get on to shooting faster.

it's still a system that allows you to throw yourself into and out of cover, take different paths and generally annoy your typical static players who like to snipe..ie winning without effort. once players get used to smart (something i feel will benefit from using anologue movement systems rather than digital ones) sniping will get much harder. accuracy will become less important. and from what i've heard the guns reflect this. grenade launchers smg's pistol's and assualt rifle's. all sacrifice accuracy for pray and spray. anyway we'll wait and see.

but i will still be using gamepad on pc....may get xbox version later but i usually don't work that way around.

Getting it for PS3. It would be awesome if you could play BRINK in 3D. I can only dream...

It's not a 2D-shooter.

(I mean, really ... all that 3D-stuff for 3D-applications is just ... merely a gimmick?)

the graphics will almost certainley be the best on the PC (but only if you have about £700 to upgrade it with graphics cards and ram.....) but I want it for the 360 (ps3 works too) EPIC GAME+ GIANT PLASMA TELEVISION = win

I didn't even spend half of that for my current CPU (Intel Q6600), GPU (460GTX) and RAM (4GB). And I'm quite confident I will even be able to record the game in 1280x720 with 2x AA at 30fps (and play in FullHD at 60fps of course) with full details and most post-processing stuff (HDR & Bloom, Bump- & Parallax-Mapping et cetera).

Im very surprised the 360 has taken the leads in votes.
This forum seems more PC heavy to me. Im not complaining though, i voted 360. Been a console gamer nearly all my life, have barely ever got into PC, its too hard to game using keyboard/mouse, i know people say its better than anolog sticks, but i don't like it, and i give props to the people that can. Plus i like my comfy couch! :)

The SD forums are where the "PC heavy" crowd hangs out.

I'm pretty sure he wants to be able to use his 3d glasses with brink.

Well these forums are very PC heavy as well. Most of Bethesda's games are focused on PC.

I will get it for the Xbox. Not too many of my friends play on the PC ( :( ) and I don't own a PS3 (but I have nothing against it.)

I will be going with the 360 version. I sit in front of a PC enough as it is, a comfy couch and a big screen are nice to play on. Plus having a pretty well established friends list of FPS regulars to play with is a bonus. I just have to make sure they all get the game.

You can do that with a PC, hook up computer to TV with HDMI cable as you would with a console, buy a small desk for kb+m or use a 360 controller.

PC>All.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (which has 2.4GHz per core)
GeForce GTX 480 (with 1GB RAM)
4GB RAM (antiquated 800MHz DDR2, tho)

However, most stuff runs quite well on it.

Oh okay I can afford something within that range =) Do you think those will be good enough for RAGE later on this year?
Sorry, I really don't know much about pc gaming. I've been stuck on consoles for the longest =/

You can get by with a lot less than a GTX 480, and I think you could get by with 2GB DDR3 RAM (4GB would be better) , but I would go for the best CPU in your price range, especially with Intel since its harder to upgrade with their sockets.

I hope my GeForce 9800 GX will suffise. My CPU should be fine. (desktop)
My laptop should also be able to handle it, Intel i7 with 6GB RAM and Radeon 5400 mobile series if I remember correctly (I don't know a thing about laptop specs)

360 most definitely. I hope that Brink gets huge support from the 360 community because I want to see ALOT of DLC on XBL but I hope PC users don't get the shaft.

PC has all of SD's die-hard fans, so I wouldn't worry too much about us.

No question PC....Not only is it more fun but i hate consoles...Why? The controllers...Constant lag that cant be fixed *it can with PC though :)* and the community is way to immature. I also get bored on consoles...PC's tend to be more fun to me.
