What system will you be purchasing TESV for?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 8:19 am

Personally I think if you actually have a choice, you'd be crazy to play it on anything other than PC.

I can't even count how many times the console has saved me from critical bugs during my Oblivion, FO3 and FO:NV gameplays.

Even if you don't have a high-end computer and you're not getting the PC version for the graphics, I'd still get it just for the console.

PC version. For modding possibilities, well, I hope the TES Construction Set (or equivalent) will be available on this game... : )

Oh I don't know. Depends on the requirements for the PC. If I can manage it, the PC, if not the 360.

PC all the way.. I've always played my Elder Scrolls games on the PC. Generally though that's where I try to play all my games though. Besides I am spoiled to community content.

i think the actual game is way more exciting than mods. I didn't encounter many good mods for oblivion excluding Nehrim as a whole

Heresy!

I get your point though. The good mods for Oblivion got lost in a sea of thousands of average mods. I suspect the same will be true for Skyrim.

I just bought a new pc so I guess it will have to be that. After playing Oblivion on the highest settings I can't play it on the 360 anymore without noticing how blurry everything looks.

PS3. I'm not really privy to playing high-end video games on the PC...

I did not put together a top of the line rig for nothing, I will be putting this on my PC and maxing the crap out of it, only thing I need now is a DX 11 card to replace my dx 10 card.

*grins* 9 gigs of ram and a 3.0 i7 should do juuuust fine :D

They have not announced it will even be on xbox or PS3, but it will definitely come out on PC. Who knows, bethesda has been doing pretty well, maybe they even made their own console... yeah right.

You will be able to mod it for PC even if it's released for consoles just like Oblivion.

just like Morrowind too, I'm playing Morrowind GOTY Edition on my 360, last I heard Morrowind is pretty mod-able on the PC as well

Definitely PC. I'll have to upgrade the graphic card by then, but everything else should easily handle the game.

As for people hoping it doesn't come out on consoles, seriously how miserable and mean-spirited is that? As far as I'm concerned the more people who can buy it on whatever platform the better - more sales equals more money for development of future games.

I'll do the same thing I did for Morrowind and Oblivion. Buy it first for X-box, my gaming system of choice. Then buy it again for PC later just for the construction set.
I love creating mods and building things, but I'm a console player through and through.

What I do hope is that it is developed for PC first and foremost, and then ported to consoles before release. They did that with Morrowind and I would love another game in the same style, I wasn't too happy with Oblivion.

PeeCee.

I imagine since it's coming out on current-gen consoles, it'll put a restriction on the sort of system requirements it'll demand. Which is both good and bad.

PC

If it can't run it. I'll buy better one. Which I doubt since it is already more powerful than current consoles...

PC here too :)

There is a very good chance that this 3 year old PC will be up to the job, if not then a late 2011 $200 graphics card will sort it out boosting all my older games too where needed.

I'm perfectly aware of that, but see if you can convince my HP Pavilion Slimline 3600z with a mini power source to fully support my 47inch 1080p HDTV without hiccups. 1920x1080 is not something my PC is capable of without toning down certain graphics settings. ;)

True, some of the graphics solutions used by the various manufacturers are below par. That said, there is nothing wrong with tweaking the graphics settings, take Modern Warfare 2 for example, out of the box running on the 360 the game renders at something like 1024x600 and the image is then scaled either internally or by the screen. So, if your 3600z is capable of 1024x600 you're good to go.

Pc. We need this thread?

And yeah, PC Gamers are way too much of an afterthought. It's sad, really, since there's so much more potential with them. And when you look at the PC gaming market, us PC gamers can really be some obsesive addicts (WoW, Bethesda games...). Good for business.
