What is that planet in the sky?

Anyone know? And are the gods actually gods or just magical aliens?

Which planet? You mean... one of the moons?

This is why I love TES. Actual gods? Magical aliens? Dreams eating dreams? They're all the same thing <3

Lunar Lorkhan is my favorite book, solely for that one little piece of lingo. Plane(t). Magical dimensions, bubble realms within Oblivion, astrological bodies. Same thing

A better question would be why the hell cant we see the stars behind the moon? Like they don't cast shadows in the lore, the moons are supposed to actually have sorta like holes through them because their lorkhans decaying body. But instead in Skyrim its just a shadow.

Akatosh had a spaceship. Adamantine Tower.

So... a little bit of both.

Yeah, that bugged me a bit as well.

Poor Beth, having to put up with such nerdy nitpicks as this. I guess a mod will suffice.

You can't blame them when the transparent moon in MW was a glitch.

One of the two moons. The Larger, brownish-red one is Masser. The Smaller, white one is Secunda. The moons are the corpse-flesh of Lorkhan.

Is it just me, or have the moons been getting more white since Morrowind?

Could Shor be pulling himself back together?

Color wise, Masser has been getting more and more in-line with Mars. Which may be more due to the fact that Masser's texture is a picture of Mars then anything.

One of the things I like most about TES is the writers' abilities to retcon things so nicely and create new, unique lore out of it.

Different Khajiit forms? The Lunar Lattice. A unique and awesome aspect of TES.
See-through moons? Lorkhan-yada-yada.

(Though admittedly not everything is great... I'm looking at you, jungle-to-forest quote!)

Or my personal favorite, taking the name Adamantine Tower and turning it into Ada-Mantia, a word with many important etymologies inaugurating the whole Tower lore thing and an obscure literary reference describing Mankar Camoran's character all in one.

Yeah, that last one bugged me, too.

But that's what's wonderful about TES, to me. The way they've weaved their lore over the last almost twenty years now is impressive. Plus, it leaves a lot open to interpretation, what with things being unclear on many fronts whether it's real or just folklore.

Anyway, those planets in the sky, as previously stated are the two parts of Lorkhan's corpse. Masser and Secunda. Easy to remember which is which because 'Masser has more mass.'

Heh. I go Masser -> Master -> Bigger, and Secunda -> Second -> Smaller.
