What if the adoring fan was...

...a good looking female Bosmer instead of a fat geek?

You'd of kept her around I bet.

EDIT: ...what if we also made her good with a bow and maybe healing as to be a useful companion as well?

No I wouldn't have.
You can be as pretty as you want. As soon as you get annoying, you're gone.

I would have enjoyed the fan's company a bit more, sure - but the constant happy jibber-jabbering and hero worshiping would certainly lead to a very shallow grave.

Well, the adoring fan was better than:

"I have a feeling that you and I, are going to become...VERY close..."

Such words were first heard years and years ago, and everybody decided to be immature and interpret them as something nasty, and that's why every single male Bosmer in Tamriel is discriminated against. Bethesda has done little to remedy it either - they seem to be intentionally http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Flanderization such NPCs now... :P

Can I ask you what the link was for?
With that said, I don't get all the hate for the adoring fan. He's rather cute in his own kind of morbidly deformed manner.

You know on some games where you have a pretty cute girl sidekick, but she's really annoying? Or similarly an annoying female you have to interact with a lot, even though she would be cute? Same thing applies with them and the Adoring Fan; both are best left 6ft under, but will never leave you the [censored] alone :banghead:

So even if it was a pretty female bosmer, if she still acted just like the Adoring Fan I would have gladly pushed her off a cliff, outright slay her on the spot, or tell her to get the hell away from me.

I'd have to agree with this. Being pretty won't make me like a character if that character is still annoying. As has been pointed out, games will often have a female character who looks good, but is still quite annoying and won't leave you alone, most likely, the developers believe that players will accept a character as long as she looks nice enough and there's no need to worry about making her likable, but this is often not the case. Besides, the Adoring Fan is a Bosmer, they can't be saved.

Such words were first heard years and years ago, and everybody decided to be immature and interpret them as something nasty, and that's why every single male Bosmer in Tamriel is discriminated against. Bethesda has done little to remedy it either - they seem to be intentionally Flanderizing such NPCs now...

I don't know, I think even if it weren't for that line, the voices and the faces would be bad enough. Bethesda probably just caught on to how fans seemed to find them annoying, and decided to do it on purpose.

The adoring fan was awesome and very annoying but he wouldn't be awesome if it wasn't for that. Killing him is just so satisfying.

A friend of mine enjoyed playing a male Bosmer as his first character. I didn't see the attraction of it all.

I wouldn't like the annoying fan, even if had been the annoying groupie instead. I found him to be useless at best, and a nusance at worst, though I'm one of the few people who hasn't killed him a hundred times by shooting him off diving rock a thousand or more times(really, is that necesary?).

Because of the higher power that Bethesda follows.
