I can't remember the title of the book, but it's definitely one of my favorites. I remember finding it while playing through Morrowind.

From what I remember, it's about someone interviewing this Nord who belongs to the Commona Tong.
What really sparks intrigue in this man is how he always carries out his missions with an axe; not a poison-laced dagger or silent arrow from 50+ yards away like a traditional assassin.

Anyway, the book delves into the whys of his weapons of choice. I won't go into that bit though so I don't spoil the story for anyone who hasn't read it yet.
For those who have read it, you'll have recognized it by now. If anyone does remember the name to this tale, I'd appreciate if you were to respond to this with it.

I'd highly recommend this one to whoever has not read it yet. It's one of those books, for me at least, that really keeps you on the edge of your seat.
I know this must sound awfully strange; recommending a book I don't even know the title of.

**EDIT**: I did a bit of research after typing this up and found the book. From what I can tell it's exclusive to Morrowind and is titled, "The Axe Man" (imagine that).
I also found the man belongs to the Morag Tong, not the Commona Tong. I feel that disclaimer is necessary so I don't get flamed for mixing the two up. Here's a link to the story: http://www.imperial-library.info/content/morrowind-axe-man

It's very short (5-10 minute read), but very compelling. If nothing else, it'll have killed 5-10 minutes of waiting for Skyrim. Enjoy!

Just read it. Incredible. Almost matches Palla and A Game At Dinner. The folks at gamesas are brilliant.

A Game at Dinner, mentioned a few times in response to the OP, is fantastic.

I really liked the 5 volumes of The Real Berenziah.

There are actually hints to what happens to lead up to the Jagar Tharn Quest line in TES I: Arena, like who that woman is that talks to you in the game, and also who sent her.

That was some really awesome backstory stuff, most likely canon too.
