What is the Brass Towers Stone?

Post » Wed Jan 14, 2015 4:01 am

So I have been reading up on all the meta Elder Scrolls lore lately and after learning that I learnt it all backwards, I started reading about the towers theory. While doing this I came across various list on possible towers and on all the lists the Numidium was listed with its stone being the Heart of Lorkan being its stone, but I was confused as the Heart is the stone of the Red Mountain (Red tower). So I have some questions for any and all lore buffs, can two towers have the same stone and do they both hold Mundas together?

Also I just finished Morrowind again recently and I was thinking about the Akulakhan and I was wondering, if it was turned on would it mantle the original Numidium? And does mantling a God, eg Talos or CoC mantling Sheogorath, retroactively change said God in the time line to better fit the new person?

Thank you for any replies and sorry if anythings really wrong but its my first post on lore.

The stone of the brass tower was originally the Heart of Lorkhan, and then later Zurin Arctus created a "fake" stone to power it, the mantella.

and technically, only Red Mountain and the Ur-Tower hold Mundus together, at least by design. The other towers, the ones built by the elves, were made to either control some power to escape Mundus.

The Heart was Red Mountain's Stone originally, so I'm not entirely convinced that it was it. The Mantella probably served as a function for it, but its possible that the absorbicide of the Dwemer also rendered it functional as a tower then and there, without either the Mantella or Heart serving as its stone.

So if the other towers were not built to hold together Mundas like the original do the others do anything... energetic like the brass tower? Because wasn't the Brass tower built to force the Dwemer up the stream and make them divine again?

EDIT: So the Dwemer may function as the stone similar to how the Khajit function as their tower?, interesting!

The brass tower was made to anti-create, essentially reverse the process by which the divine turned into the mortal.

IIRC, it's said that Crystal-Like-Law was made to capture elder magic, and prevent it from degrading into a lesser form, a process known as dracochrysalis, and White-Gold Tower, along with the imperial city, which was part of the White-Gold complex, was made to be a mimicry of the shape of the mortal realm, so that the Ayleids could pluck at its strings, and have Mundus respond in echo, or something to that nature.
