The DB questline and Nilsine Shatter-Shield is incredibly cruel.

Seems like only a monster would do something like that.

Another one would be refusing Ulfric Stormcloak's last wish and soul trapping him in a soul gem then throwing it into the middle of the ocean off Solsteim.

He'd never get to see Sovngarde, ever. Even if the soul gem was somehow found, used, and his soul released he'd end up going to that one plane of oblivion.

He was 2nd to Alduin.

Who knows, maybe he was using the Dragonborn?

Yeah that one was pretty rough. But then again, Im a vampire and just evil in general so nothing really gets to me.
On a different note, my wife yells at me when she sees me run up behind a bunny or fox and summon Odhaving or something....lol

I think magic in general is pretty cruel, "oh hey, I won't kill you quickly, I'll just incinerate you with a fire ball, or maybe fry your insides with a bit of shock magic." it's really mean...then there's necormancy...bringing the dead back to life...

I'd say soul trapping, which my nord does despite knowing about the soul cairn. Call him a jerk, but he doesn't think Imperial supporting nords deserve to see Sovngarde. Neither does anyone who raises a weapon against him. It's not very heroic, but I like the TES concept of heroic figures being [censored]s like that. Heroic goody good heroes are boring. He's still good, but he can be bad when it comes to things like this.

I never really thought of soul trapping as cruel until you play that one special mission on DG which I wont say to spoil anything.

Yeah but it's still a bit harsh don't you think? Even Legionnaires are simply fighting for what they believe in. Condemning them to eternal torture is a bit harsh.
If the gods see that they deserve Sovngarde, then let them go to Sovngarde.
