So I was in Vault 3 yesterday to clear out the fiends and rescue Anders - something I'd done without too much hassle in previous playthroughs. This time, I ran into a couple frustrating problems though. First off, I knew how pathetically weak he is, so I told him to go back to the camp like I always did. Everything seemed fine initially - he went into the sneaking stance and started heading off. But then suddenly, instead of leaving the vault, he attacked one of the entrance guards, and got instantly killed. I tried reloading and redoing it, but this kept happening to me so I figured I'd just leave him there, clear out the vault myself, and then get back to him later. So I went and killed Motor Runner, cleared out the maintenance wing and came back to the recreation area, only to find the idiot dead right outside his hiding place. I suppose I could have avoided this by trying to clear out the recreation area
first and then going down to Motor Runner, but by that point I had already quick-saved myself into a corner and wasn't about to lose a bunch of progress just to fix it. I had half a mind to just leave it at that, too, because he kinda deserved it, but in the end I used the console to resurrect him and send him back to base.
The bugs I ran into were annoying, but my bigger question is this - why
does Anders have so little health to begin with? I get that he's wounded and all, but you'd figure that if a guy's on the
verge of death, either he or my character (with 70+ medicine skill) would have noticed it. So what's the deal with this? Is it intentional, or some kind of oversight?
