I was wondering what the deal with the red ghoul pirate from the concept art was. I guess the presence of pirates might indicate that the map is located near the sea or something similiar because pirates usually appear on the sea to raid other ships and such. Perhaps we even get the Chance to hire him as a companion. What is the current state of Information on him?

I say he looks more like someone who stole a 18th century military uniform from somewhere rather then a pirate.

I think he's supposed to be a Ghoul who thinks he's a 1700s British Redcoat.

What corroborates my assumption that he's pirate is his cunning grin which is a pretty characteristic trait of pirates.

a very subjective observation, plus 18th century redcoat would make more sense (as much as a ghoul in those kind of clothes can) consider Bostons importance during the war of independence, we already seen other signs the game will have a undertone of that time in history.

All the while I dont recall Boston being reknown for much piracy.

He is a ghoul wearing a "red coat" attire, but he is also wearing earrings and has a "harrr"-grin going on, so he is and most likely will be a deranged Boston tea party pirate. I look forward to meeting him and possibly his kin.

Boston Massachusetts is a coastal city, it may explain why pirates/raiders at sea too.

I couldn't agree more. What also speaks for him being a pirate is the distinctive pirate hat and the scruffy Long hair. Many signs seem to indicate that Fallout 4 will have a large piracy subtheme just like New Vegas was all about Cowboys and stuff.

There is another concept art pic featuring two readcoats in the E3 Footage, so I'm guessing that there is a enemy faction for the Minutemen.

If tries and talks like an Englishman, ranting about colonists and such, okay, I'll buy he's a ghoul who thinks he's a Redcoat.

With the independence angle, I fully expect to see [hear] someone say of Power Armor, "I got to get me one of these!".

Why'd we do that when he's clearly a pirate?

Its not even clear that this guy is supposed to be a ghoul. Since unlike with previous fallouts ghouls his ears and nose is fully intact... doesnt make too much of a ghoul that way.

Well, they may have changed a few aesthetics to the Ghoul design this time around. It's not like they just imported the old player models.

This would actually be a really cool faction design. We've had Romans already, having another part of history represented in a factions aesthetic would be great

Wearing a tricone hat does not make you a pirate. However much I would love there to be a Pirate Faction, I have to assume with the setting and all he is just a Redcoat.
