If the Tower is a wang, is the Wheel the female reproductive organs?

But if the Tower is the Wheel turned sideways, what would Freud say that means about male reproductive urges?

It means we are all hermaphrodites?

No, the Wheel is clearly a sausage fest. But yes, all hermaphrodites, because a [censored] is a wang with the perspective swapped.

I think this thread is proof that there's already enough. :P

My inner Kirkbride wants to say that they Eye of Magnus is just an eye. That once belonged to Magnus. Hence the name. Probably some star-child bull[NUMMIT] (half-sister of Meridia?). I've never heard of it being KIMMUNE though. That's an interesting theory.

I think Oblivion gates already have that metaphor pegged down.

"The image of their coupling adorns the face-side of the now thricesixty-ought-ought-drake-valued coin (a rather dubious seigneurage these days, to be sure), and the Bachelor's right hand fondles the bell's heaving clapper rather desperately. That Kurtha-khul holds his saber upright and angled 60 degrees in his left can only have been a warning to his border (and religion) disputing neighbors, the worst of which lay to the north-northwest, at a cardinal point matching exactly the tip of his barony's blade."

Looking at the Eye of Magnus, the runes of it remind me of the runes on the background of the Elder Scroll you get in Oblivion.

EDIT: In the game files I have found Phinis Gestor mentioning a very interesting theory in one of his lectures. Don't know if you can actually see it in the game, but it is very interesting indeed:
"It has been proposed that the object is in fact the entirety of Aurbis in one physical space. This would of course mean Tamriel, indeed all of Mundus, is actually contained within the sphere. It further suggests that we are somehow then outside our own existence while looking at it. While the idea seems dubious at best, it has not, at present, been entirely ruled out."

He also mentions theories that is an actual part of Magnus or a conduit to Aetherius, but the Aurbis theory is the most interesting I find. It also puts Ancano's boasting about how he had the power to destroy the world at his fingertips in a new light. Magnus was the architect of Mundus, and the Staff of Magnus has a special interaction with the Eye, so perhaps he was using it to harvest raw creatia from the rest of the Aurbis to make Mundus?

This is very Borgesian -- reminds me of the story "El Aleph," which involves a point in space in which it is possible to see all other points in space simultaneously.

There are lectures in the game files that aren't available in the game proper? Perhaps someone should mod them in. What lectures there were that I've seen are all very interesting.

I still think it's the stone of Snow-Throat. The Magnus connection doesn't overrule it being a pillar of reality, in this case designed to protect Mundus from Aetherius. That's what the magic anomalies were, essentially Oblivion gates with magic radiation coming through instead of Daedra.
Possible, but I don't really agree with this at all. The Aldmeri Dominion and the Thalmor want to destroy all of the towers that link Mundus to Aetherius, so I'm sure that if anyone even remotely suspected it to be the stone of Snow-Throat, they would have sent more than one agent to investigate it.

Maybe Ancano got a bit daring, thinking he could do this all by himself before reporting it to his higher ups?

First thing I thought of is Dawn magic that was dracochrysalized, but I also like the Kimune idea, and slightly less the stone one.

I dunno.. also possible, but the Aldmeri and Thalmor seem to be so committed to destroying Mundus that they wouldn't dare let a chance like that slip through their grasp.
