I'm going to do what I do in every game I just buy. Press every button, explore any region I please, and murder anyone that stands in my way. Literally.
Im gonna find a giant and poke him in his foot with my rusty iron dagger and piss him off real good, all this to see if Bethesda included limb damage in the game xD
I rarely have any idea what a new character is going to do in Oblivion or Morrowind, and I know almost everything there is to know about those games. I'm just not interested in laying things out in advance. I just create a character that seems interesting and go and see who and what s/he ends up being. And even if I didn't prefer playing that way, with a new game about which I know next to nothing, that's about the only thing I could do anyway.
I will go to the nearest pub and take a seat at a dark corner, dressed in a rangers outfit with its hoody over my head, smoking a pipe. Watching and eavesdropping on the folks, than i will take the ring from the halfling, and I will become the ruler of the world!!
I like it! I'm definitely going to play a ranger as well. Trying to decide if I will have the self control to completely forgo magic (it's hard not to use healing magic, but it doesn't always quite fit the character . . . )
Depending on whether or not the Bosmer look like pigs, either wood elf or a nord. I'll go around exploring skyrim, murdering innocents and fighting creatures until i eventually make my way to the dark brotherhood and thieve's guild
(Before Tutorial) Do the tutorial! (After tutorial) Climb the 7000 steps of GLORY and jump off The Throath Of The World. Then go enjoy a nice Mug of Nord Ale. After that go do the main quest and after that I will go and kill some dragons that attack the city. AAAND Im going to join a murderers guild (Dark Brotherhood or some other one if there is one) then go and assasinate a person in a tavern (See the trailer XD) Then try some finishers. After that do some robbing and more killing.
The first thing i will do once i am out in the open and on my own is find the nearest town, inside the town i will look for the nearest book shop, then i will go there and see if they have any books about the great hero of kvatch that lived 200 years ago, and how he/she closed the gate and saved the city, and his/her other great adventures in the land of cyrodil. if they do i will read it in full, as i have decided that my character in skyrim will be a descendant and therefore the same race as my oblivion character (breton), it's only fair that he would want to read about his ancestors! then i will go take a look around skyrim in all it's majestic glory. If they don't have any such book i will go take a look around anyway, then spend the rest of the game keeping an eye out for that book!
Nice Idea! I should also do that..... It would be funny if the book would be called "The Hero Of Kvatch". I hope that ALL of the pepole don't call you the same like they did in Oblivion. "Hey your the Hero Of Kvatch"
With daggerfall, morrowind and oblivion, I grinded the main story first, then sat back and enjoyed all the games sidequests, and scenery and stuff, mess around a bit, then download some mods, then PLAY IT LOTS AND LOTS.
i am looking forward to the roleplay options that the new no class system provides. you know, get my head out of the numbers as much as possible after creation. if there is a start dunguon do that, or go to step 2 and find the first town. after selling loot and getting my seplies i would go to the bar and pick up some helpful rumors. armed with 2-300 gold, some standard second level loot, and my new found knowledge, [ please excuse the caps] I SHALL ATTEND A DINNER PARTY! /lightbuld/
Study the arcane arts. Specializing in frost magic and summons of skeletons. So after I raise conjuration and destruction about 10 levels each, then I will continue my adventure.
I hope it's like Fallout 3 where when I begin the real true game I get to do whatever I want to do once I get out (you didn't have to go to Megaton, from there on out you could anywhere). If it's like that then I'll find the biggest city nearby and start looting off it so I can level up.
I, personally, am going to load the construction set first, mod a terrific set of armor and weapons (not overbalanced, mind you, just cool looking), and then explore the world. See, I want to look cool while doing it. lol

I did somthing similar in Oblivion I put legion armor with the crest helm and a silver sword in a the boat just outside the sewer you come from. Later with a mod I changed the armor into the palace guard armor. I had allready beat the game by this time however.
