Starting the game up, making my character, following the usual tutorial for any of the new features, viewing the game world and maybe saying, if it's impressive at first view, "Oh my-okay, I'm lost, fun, now to explore" and doing any starting quests first before fully exploring and seeing what there is to see.

Just like I did with Oblivion and Fallout 3.

Personally, after my character is made and i've set off into the mojave wasteland, i'll be searching for the closest-most safe town.

Going hunting. The Mojave Wasteland is one big hunting safari and it's open season all year.

Not much of a safari. Dog turns red, and charges you. Deathclaw turns red, and charges you. Coyote turns red...

I think I'll go the hunting route also, and exploring at the same time. I'll wander around and look at the surroundings to feel the ambiance set in New Vegas before doing anything serious.

Those looking for the nearest town will have an easy job finding one. You start off in a town.

Starter quests first, then explore & gather, while taking quest breaks.

Begin the start. Get myself sorted out by stealing a few bits and pieces from the opening town. Then set off out into the Mojave Desert looking for any settlements.. hopefully not complete hostile places either. Not straight away anyway.

Haven't we already gone over this? Jeez, the game isnt even out and you expect it to be the same as Fallout 3 when they have already told us they've improved the AI and wasteland encounters.

Welcome to the forums!

Seeing as I'm playing on hardcoe Mode, I'm going to scavenge the local area and look for food & drink to last me a few days. Maybe I'll crank the difficulty up to Hard, too.

My character will not take nicely to being shot in the head, so as soon as I'm ready, it's off to Primm, baby.

Do a couple of the early parts of the main quest to level up organically, and then go explore the wasteland.

I'm gonna explore, trying to find close towns, stock up on food/water (I'm playin hardcoe, baby.) and then set out in the opposite way to Vegas and find as much towns as possible. I'll most likely die about a thousand times, as a result of thirst/hunger/sleep deprevation. Or, maybe I'll go hunting! I enjoyed hunting in FO3, but in NV hardcoe, it might actually be important/needed.
