What is the fuzz with the Imperial race?

Post » Fri Feb 28, 2014 2:39 am

Unless it's part of a larger expansion, I highly doubt it.

BUT if their marketing team isn't kept in check I wouldn't be surprised, if this was a f2p game bet your ass it would be for extra money with this marketing team, but the sub is the only leash holding their team in check....

Remains to be seen if they have a limit or if there is any line they won't cross, I just really hope they stop with these moves at the imperial edition and nothing else.

Haha this can't go on, again in that line of logic, I payed for champagne and got water, thats how I see it.

There's no point arguing about it, I have my view on things you have yours.

Also, again all I want is, not to argue if this is wrong or right, to me its wrong, but thats me, all I truly want is to prevent this from happening in the future.

I think that is greedy though; if we need to pay for expansion too including subscription fee each month.

At least Dice gave us 4 new maps, before we needed to upgrade to premium member, EA marketing thing.

But you didn't pay for anything yet. You are just given the options: buy cheap mineral water, or buy expensive champagne.

And you complain you won't get champagne for the price of mineral water, and that this is wrong because champagne is vital for you.

And you are right, this leads nowhere. If i did not manage to convince you by now its unlikely i ever will. So, have a nice day :)

Funny, I do agree that the truth is in the middle, but not with everything he says, but he is sorta of right.

Instead of content being removed, why not think of it as content being added on top of what they originally planned to have? Think of it as a reward for customers who are willing to fork out more money for a more premium product. So if you don't pay, you get what was originally supposed to be, 9 races.

Because it's not added, there was no confirmation of it being available, but you would be living in ignorance if you think they would never be available to play too, it's clear they planned this for a long time, it's not added, it was supposed to go into the game (as the devs wanted), but for the sake of cash they saw an opportunity and locked it behind a cash wall instead.

It's DLC before game launch, simple fact... it should not exist, want to add these extra perks? Put them in a worthy expansion with lots of content for an extra 30€, not just small pieces of content for extra cash, it's a dike corporate move.

Actually scratch my above post, I agree with more than I thought with that Jim dude, lol. I think it's worthy link to everyone to make their mind on what side their on.

I made my mind, have my own opinion, make your own.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCz7MOhMF8g thanks for the link, not sure if intended as an insult or not, but i didn't take it as one, so thanks for the link :D

The entire Imperial race didnt start worshipping daedra all of a sudden! The ruling elite(the Tharns) did. think Normans in England.

Obviously not insult at all. Just saying we should always voice our own opinion but we should never resort to name calling and hate speech, from both side.

i dont really know what the problem is man,
World of warcraft gave mounts with digital CE's that were oinly available to CE buyers.
They had a cash shop where you could buy mounts for 25$

Really, guys? Every CE ever has had a "paywall". They all included fancy vanity items that you couldn't get in the standard package. Moreover, Imperials were never even talked about before this. Sources on "they were clearly going to be in the game, then cut for money" or that's a fine tinfoil conspiracy.

Imperials are slightly shorter Nords and paler Redguards, and every race uses the same skeleton. It's hardly impossible that they decided to do this halfway through, this isn't months upon months upon months of work.

If you had read the whole sentence i stated that there is no confirmation available, but thinking that they added it out of pure brilliant moment of the marketing team, is being quite naive, it's quite clear that it was planned, no possible way to confirm, but it's .... well clear :D.

And again I invite everyone to watch this video, all those who talk about "they need to make money, capitalism"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCz7MOhMF8g make your own informed opinion, he says things quite clear, if you agree or not does not make what he says "wrong".

Probably the wisest thing said in this thread yet. An unspoken rule of online forums is you're never going to convince another member of something they don't already agree with, and insisting on doing so does tend to lead to more flames than not.

Anyway, just dropping a line to remind everyone to obey the forum rules, which do assume that all members are capable of mutual respect and dealing with differences of opinion in a civil manner.

So - it's just something you believe. There's no factual basis for the assertion.

I'm sure it was planned. Quite rightly. They didn't spend untold millions without a plan. Plans are good. I hope they have a lot more plans to keep delivering great game-play. I hope they have back up plans.

This is for me also the most important factor, when it comes to the imperial-discussion. I find the whole "race behind a paywall"-idea idiotic and i'm 100% certain that unless consumers let companies know that they are taking their DLC to far, that this will become the standard in the industry. $200 mil budged or not, there are plenty of profits to be found without lowering yourself to cash-grabbing practices like this.

It already is the standard for some years. eso far from first and far from worst.

Edit: at the whole imperial race being daerdra worshippers, it is stated they have not suddenly turned into mindless zombies all of a sudden but they worship the eight at this point. A few people might have turned though as in every race.

Well, I suspect that the CE is selling like hot-cakes so consumers like me are saying it's absolutely fine. I also bought the Collectors Edition of (or equivalent) Lord of The Rings, Guild Wars 2, Neverwinter and Rift which gave me lots of nice useful stuff that standard pack players didn't have without at any point precipitating the End Of The World.
