And i hope you enjoy the mounts, pet's, unique armor skins, books, figurines, w/e. I never had any reason to give a second thought about them. A playable race is a whole diffrent story though.

Not to me it isn't. It's open to anyone who buys a physical or digital Imperial edition. It's an extra on top of the complete game I'm paying extra for. If I just bought the standard edition I'd have the complete game I have been expecting for months. I was never at any stage promised the playable Imperial race. It is a bonus that I'm paying extra for and one I would not miss if I just bought the standard game.
What's being included in this 'more expensive version' looks a lot like what most other manufacturers offer up as a standard feature. I've seen games release new races in paid expansions, but I can't think of any "buy + subscription" games that hid one behind an extra fee pre-launch.
Is it a big deal? Not to me, but clearly it's pushing boundaries for some people. And I don't really see the point in mocking them over it. That's just tacky.
While it's healthy to know when and how you've been wronged, please remember that the main point is to not forger this happened and that we should voice concern for the future, it's too late to do anything now, they clearly knew this would rise problems, so they dropped the bomb and they were done with it.
We need to not forget so they are not allowed to do this type of actions again.
No point discussing if what they did was within their right, explain with capitalism, etc, it's done, we should focus on discussing how to prevent this from ever happening again instead.

The bottom line is those that feel this is some sort of betrayal will always think so, those of us that couldn't care less will either buy the IE or not depending on if it's appealing or not. It's time to set this dead horse to rest before you people start beating a bottle of glue.
erm, the dead horse is raised from you guys, the last two of these thread....
We're trying to see if there is a method of revival, like beating a loyal dog enough will eventually get you bitten, maybe beating a dead thing enough will angry it enough to come to life again.
Who knows
Hrm, I can understand and agree with both sides on this. In any game, being simply of one race or another won't always seperate you from other races. There are always renegades, mercenaries that are accepted in distant lands.
Example: I did pre-order and prefer Breton for all my characters and plan on doing each intro to get the feel of the game. I can do this, because I pre-ordered and have all races unlocked. Now, for those who can't do pre-order or want to see how the game plays out won't be able to do this because it's not a feature to play any race in any faction. As per what Lenthas was talking about earlier, I pay the same amount that you do. I just didn't do it a month or so before the game came out, so I am SOL.
While on the other hand...I think it's brilliant. If you truly want to play an Imperial, put in some overtime at work and go buy the better version. That's all there is to it. It's 2 seperate types of content. The one you want, and the one you don't. I want to play breton in all factions so I bought the pre-order standard. You want to play Imperial, buy the higher up one.
It's your choice and it's not going to change anytime soon.
As for your 2nd point, I wouldn't mind, but what stops them from doing this type of action again? This is such a dramatic bomb they dropped that you can't simply go naive mode and think they'll stop here, it already showed a factor of 5 CE to 1 standard in sales, whats to stop them from adding the daedra edition before launch with the whole continent suddenly available and you playing as a general for molag bal.
Again, it's a choice, a choice that shouldn't had happened on my view, but once again, it comes down to remembering this happened, and the gates for further such drastic measures is open, we should not allow that to happen next time.
Dude all you do is complain about IE, why not just upgrade your standard edition its only 40 more . Oh you dont want to pay more for 1 extra race, well you get to choose 9 races which was promised to you.
So does the Imperial race have any special or more powerful abilities that the other races don't have?
Meaning, are people that pay for Imperial race getting an advantage in "power" over the races that don't cost anything.
I didn't pay extra for my CE, I got it for the same price as the regular edition.

Im unsure of what traits they get, if i have a say in which race is OP'd would be khajit due to the crit and crit severity traits (im not saying nerf the cats). Imperials will not even get that so they are pretty useless to me as a dps.
If Imperials were in a DLC, people would complain about the white horse, or rings of mara, or crab pet, or they toy in a box. You cannot win with these guys
Imperials are right now under the control of Molag bal because they elected a emperor without being of the "Dragonborn" blood and that broke the alliance of humans and Akatosh, so most of imperial officials and such are being controlled by Mollag. So your character will someone not bound by Mollag influence.
As a race Imperial have bonus on Stamina - HP - And a really minor self heal per strike (6hp) but this make them nice tankers, but this is true for orcs, redguards, argonians and nords. So it's a big whatever.
I understand and respect your opinion, but I cannot fully agree with it. I am with you that the marketing should be prevented from doing something like that in the future as cash shop options or dlc packs (Although, the only way you can voice your opinion is with your wallet) and include it in expansions.
But the fact is, the game has been advertised with 9 races playable and 3 alliances. You knew what you could get early on and decide if it is enough for you personaly. I too think that either the devs or the marketing thought of including imperials and the IE is how it turned out. The discussion for that matter is over, as you said yourself and I am with you preventing the marketing from coming up with ways to let the costumer fork out some extra cash for things that should be included with the subscription fee. I myself would see the IE lackluster without imperials in them.
