Well this is the wrong forum buddy. Though although I never played it I think Daggerfall may be the hardest after what I have been hearing of the "vets"

That's actually pretty much talk. Daggerfall was pretty simple.

I believe Oblivion on master was ridiculously hard when you were at the gates themselves.

I never played Arena or Daggerfall, only twenty minutes of Morrowind. The only TES games I've played for more than 20 minutes (WAY more than 20 minutes) are Skyrim and Oblivion. And Skyrim is really easy. I wouldn't say Oblivion is hard, so......I don't have an answer.

Well if you want to add difficulty sliders into it I would say Morrowind with the slider to 11

Oh really? though if that's true I wonder why daggerfall fans. (well a lot at least) are complaining about how simple skyrim is then. I guess it must be a matter of opinion.

Morrowind because of the insanely sharp learning curve/ you couldn't hit a t-ball at a level 1.

None of them are really all that hard. It depends more on how you develop your character than which game of the series you are playing.

That said, your hand/eye coordination is more of a factor in Skyrim than Oblivion and more of a factor in Oblivion than Morrowind. So, if you measure "hard" in terms of how good you must be at manipulating a controller/keyboard, then Skyrim is the hardest, followed by Oblivion and Morrowind is the easiest.

If on the other hand, you measure difficulty in terms of how much you need to pay attention to what you are doing, follow directions, plan your character build, etc. than Morrowind is the hardest, followed by Oblivion, followed by Skyrim, which in many ways is the easiest to play, despite the fact that does take more hand/eye coordination to play Skyrim than Oblivion and Morrowind.

I find the earlier games easier than Oblivion and Skyrim. Thats probably because I have poor reflexes and coordination but always made sure in DF/MW I had a decent skill in the weapons I chose to use.

Daggerfall.

You will not complete it without a guide.

I wouldn't describe any TES game as being particularly difficult... but Daggerfall is the only one where I constantly felt like my character could die if I wasn't careful. And certainly for beginners, Privateer's Hold in Daggerfall is lot harsher as a starter dungeon than the opening dungeons in Oblivion or Skyrim.

Oblivion is crazily hard on non-mages. Even if you have 100% camoflage or reflect damage and is for all purpose immortal, it takes you a long time to kill any enemy without combat damage mods. On the other hand, mages can clear out a horde of the hardest monsters by chaining Weakness to Magic spells.

The situation is somewhat reversed in Skyrim.

Actually that is called Guide Dang It over at Tvtropes and it is not a good thing in general. Exception can be argued for a sandbox game unless something doing something 5 hours earlier prevents you from completing something else totally different 5 hours later, then it is broken.

Arena is poorly balanced, so some characters are very hard to play whereas others are a walk in the park. That said, it's sort of a mixed bag in the difficulty department and therefore I don't think it should be named the hardest game in the series.

Daggerfall is not hard. In fact, I'd say that apart from the fact that you can easily bork the main quest, it's difficulty level is just about on par with Skyrim (which is the easiest game in the series, really).

Morrowind is kind of difficult simply for the fact that random chance plays such a huge roll in everything you do, and luck doesn't normally smile down on me.

Oblivion has a horrible scaling system that eventually makes the game pretty much impossible even on normal difficulty, so I think it gets my vote for the most difficult game in the series.

Daggerfall is by far the hardest, at least potentially, because you had so many options at character creation time to use if you so chose. There were 5 reputation sliders that were at neutral; you could trash your rep with some factions, making questing hard to bloody damned hard. There were advantages and disadvantages you could choose, which could make the game easier, or bloody impossible for certain types. You had approximately 180,000 square miles to play in....lots of chances to get in over your head. Dungeons went from mildly challenging to 'What The Hell Were They Smoking!'.....and that was just in structure. You had another layer, as you never knew if you would run into a nest of vampires that would wipe the floor with you, a rats warren, or various NPC types to give you fights ranging from whackamole to run as fast as you can in the opposite direction and hope you hit a door they can't get through. Many quests were timed, so you could fail. The main quest had timed sequences, so you could run out of time and lose control over which way the main quest went.

How hard is was tended to be a function of your choice of playstyle.

Daggerfall and Morrowind start out difficult, but as you level up and get stronger, the games become much more trivial. I don't think they can be counted for this reason.

Skyrim can be very easy even on master with certain equipment. You don't have to exploit the game, and can get very powerful by yourself just by playing it and using what's given to you. The first 15ish levels on master are hard, but it becomes trivial like Daggerfall and Morrowind.

Oblivion on maximum difficulty, on the other hand, never decreases in difficulty and only increases as you level up. Almost all enemies are scaled to your level, and eventually you'll see nothing but high level enemies like minotaurs and xivilai. Its leveling system was very flawed, but for that reason I'd consider it the hardest Elder Scrolls game, just not in a good way. Being powerful in it at a very high level (I would say 30+ or 40+) on max difficulty will require enchantments, spellmaking, full daedric, 100 endurance as soon as possible, and a lot of powergaming and metagaming.

Daggerfall because the quests were very hard and no one holds your hand.

Yeah, you know, using a claymore is a great idea when your main weapon skill is short blade and you're playing an altmer.

I would say that if you're just playing the game normally (ie. .not choosing skills that you never use as your primaries, getting all skills and stats to 100), Oblivion is the hardest at higher levels.

I would also say that Oblivion is the easiest game at low levels.

I was going to say that Daggerfall is the easiest, but I actually die all the time. The only reason it feels easy is because I save the game every time I clear a room or walk down a corridor.
