What the heck just happened? (PC)

So my Oblivion was just working perfecly. I have always started the game trough the OBMM to launch OBSE aswell, now I accidentally opened the Launcher (just opened it, I didn't start the game) and something happened.

First; appeared two boxes that said "oblivion.ini file not found" and "quality and something- are set to defaults." Well, I spooked and quickly launched the game trough OBMM to test if its working... allright, everythings fine.

I changed the quality settings back at the launcher as they were before this sudden thing, and didn't get any more errors. Allright, I launched again trough OBMM and everything was fine, until I noticed the game says I don't have any save files. Oh damn, I checked the Saves folder, it's in the right place, it contains all the save files I had, nothings changed, everything's OK, still the game simply won't find the files.

So can anyone tell what the heck just happened and how am I able to fix it?

//AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHH now the game wont even launch, as I try to launch it no matter where, nothing happens.

I don't wanna sound like a 10-year old angry kid, but now I seriously feel like that. This kind of issues destroyed my Fallout 3, and now they destroyed Oblivion too, WHAT IS WRONG WITH BETHESDAS GAMES SERIOUSLY!!!

So I think my only option is reinstall, but if I save my saves and mods elsewhere and put them back where they're supposed to be, will they still work or did I lost all my saves?

//Okay, updating: as my only option I reinstalled Oblivion... now I have the Save1.ess save file in another folder, as I start a new game and the Oblivion.ini and the Saves folder show up, and I drag the Save1.ess in the Saves folder, will it work like normal?

Updating again, I got that my save file to work, but now my only mod, wich I've been building for a month now, seems not to work. I activate it but it has no effect. Still the file is in good condition and nothings missing. I would chech the mod in the Construction Set, but the reinstall deleted that and during some weird problems at my computer, I can't download it from anywhere but torrent fies.

So I ask you; do you possibly know any torrent about TES4 Construction Set? I tried looking but theres really no seeds. And before you tell me downloading torrents is illegal, this one isn't, since you can get it legally for free at the Bethesda sites and God knows where.

And sorry for double post, I tried to edit that upper one but it said I didn't have permission for this action, even I'm logged in.

The final update; I tested other mods too, and they didn't work. This was actually good news for me since I knew it's not only my mod that's broken. I had this problem at the very first time I played (the mods didn't work) and reinstall fixed that. So I did the reinstall again and now seriously something happened. The old save files and stuff stayed in the previous folder I had oblivion in, and I had some very old mods there wich I had deleted a long time ago. I could see the saves in the Load Game option and the old mods in the launcher's Files folder. So I tried to load my saves but the game said something about master files not loaded, returning to main menu. So I can't load my saves anymore.

Now I seriously stop trying anything and let the smarter people tell me what to do, since this got really weird.

Did you remember to patch after reinstalling? Some of this could be because the game won't load mods made with the 1.2 version of the CS unless it's patched.

Hhhmmm..... Saves will get annoyed if some mods are missing.... depending on the mod, it might just whine about it, or, worst case, crash on loading.

Something to keep in mind, just running the uninstaller doesn't clean out any of your mods. You have to actually delete the folders to make sure they are gone. Knowing what mods your saves are looking for is good information to have when going to do the reinstall. Wrye Bash can give you that info.
