There's no reason we wouldn't be able to retain experience, Brink's singleplayer and multiplayer are no different when it comes to leveling.

I can't imagine how furious I'd be if Xbox LIVE went down all of a sudden for weeks right when I got home with Brink. I'm dreading even a short blackout as I live right by Edison and they love to flick the power switches on and off just to mess with people when they get bored. Hope PS3 gets it together soon.

wasn't that "within a week" quote from last wednesday? wither way they should take this time to update the PSN anyways for all of our suffering. =*(

Yeah they also said 1 to 2 days before that... I foresee next week: "This is taking longer than expected, we're sorry for and inconvenience and thank you for your patience. We'll have more info as soon as possible.."

Not that I want that.. PS3 is my main source of online gaming.. Ill give it until next saturday... if its not up by then Im switching my BRINK pre order to 360.

i dont give a &*() about it being down...what pisses me off is that i just got an email saying that ALL of my personal information might have been stolen because of psn, including credit card number. They even advised me to take measures against identity theft. what BS!!!

PSN got screwed over and they are panicking trying to make their security unhackable. Honestly yea it svcks that it's down but at least they aren't letting it stay up while a hacker steals all your personal information including credit cards. Just deal with it for now until they feel their network is secure enough to bring back up.

Sony said that the network will be partially back up (meaning the store will be downed still), by May 3rd, one whole week before it comes out. By then Sony will have PSN updated and fully back online good as new.

This. They are ensuring that this won't happen again, we still have 12 days until Brink comes out. I'm sure we'll be able to play Brink online when it comes out. My guess is it will be up by the start of next week.

Its funny actually I have bought all these games for their single player but have never played them because I have been busy being a prestige [censored]. . .Bioshock 1 and 2 are amazing and so is the Wii. Goldeneye 007 multiplayer is good stuff along with texas hold um.

If PSN is still down when the game's released, I'll eat every hat I own (mainly because I don't own any hats, so it's an easy bet ;) )

More seriously though, at that point, I'll totally be not changing my pre-order, because I'm going to have plenty of fun in single-player.

I do hope they get it up soon because I do want to play online, but after the glowing reviews of the enemy and friendly AI, I'll probably be fine on SP. BUT! If I cant get my pre-order bonus because PSN is down, and the code expires, I will be very upset. I am worried about that, but my Modnation pre-order code gave me a year for me to input the it for the bonus, and I doubt PSN will be down for a year. That said, I really want them to get PSN back up so I can use Netflix.

Well, two weeks left until the release. If they cant fix the problem in the next two weeks, then there will be serious problems. But really there is nothing to sweat. They will fix it.

Since PSN first started, XBox live has had more 24+ hour downtime periods than PSN has had 12+ hour downtimes.

XBox live has had several times where it's been down more than 2 days, PSN has never been down before this for even a full 24 hours.

So far, this outage hasn't been as long as the XBox Live record of over 2 weeks, although it looks like we will overtake them on this one.

Good try though. ;) (also, Live's customer details haven't been successfully hacked, yet, so you have an argument there too. I'm just lucky my bank gave me a free replacement card)

I never thought about this...if it's down long enough that the preorder codes expire... :swear:
