What the hell is wrong with my arms?!

Post » Thu Mar 24, 2011 2:44 pm

I agree that they look a bit...veiny when I compare them to my own hands and arms, but hopefully its dependent on race/body type. More muscular characters have the veiny look whereas certain races won't, maybe. I can't really envision a breton or high elf with those sausage fingers, for example.

Very pronounced veins don't usually happen with typical strength training unless steroids are added to the equation. So basically, warriors in Skyrim are juicin'.

honestly they look amazing, exept for the finger-hand ration in the first person shots. fingers should be longer IMO

I tried to point out that the fingers are wrong, because you can't bend your distal joint further than your proximal joint (check out the pinky in http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/2746/vlcsnap2011030117h44m30.png and try to reproduce that with your hand).
This is not something open for debate IMO, it's just wrong.

The arms are fine I think, although really low poly. I just hope we will be able to have less muscular limbs - I'm quite skinny and I always feel like a mutant when I have to play as a body builder.

Picture A: Looks like an odd bicep-forearm clipping glitch
Picture B: His veins are huge cause he's a big, cold viking in mid battle with a big, cold troll.

I don't see anything wrong with the arms. Nords (Assuming that the character that has been shown is a Nord) are suppose to be strong hence the big biceps.

I agree that the veins on the hand look a bit extreme. They just need to tone it down a bit on the hands, which they probably have done already or are going to do.

Worry? Nah.
But pointing out odd fingers and windmills that spin in the wrong direction is a way to pass the time untill new information arrives.
Plus, it's our little part that we can contribute to beta-testing.

I didn't think developers would redo the models after they are implemented in the game. Cool then. So this thread is arguing about nothing.

nothing serious at all. Anyway the video is basically pre-alpha so it could just be a work in progress. BTW veins on arms like that are nothing out of the ordinary for somebody as bulky as the character

Models do look ugly, but don't forget it's not released yet. I'm sure Bethesda only uses them to get a general idea, and will improve on them as time goes on.

The arm is missing a polygon. For this, I'm afraid I won't be buying the game. :sadvaultboy:

I read someone say that they'd prefer oblivion's arms, no offense, but the arms in oblivion look like mannequin arms compared to the ones in skyrim. Don't get me wrong I love oblivion and I will love skyrim.

Although, slapping people with mannequin arms does seem fun!

I just stretched my arm out in the same way. I may be late to the party, but the first picture shows the very edge of his sleeve, and the second shows a dynamic shadow. Nothing to worry about.
