What is the highest damage build in the game?

Post » Mon Nov 30, 2015 2:33 am

Let's say you wanted to make the most overpowered, highest damage build possible in the game (without downloading mods or using console commands).

What SPECIAL, weapons, perks and playstyle would you choose?

Well power armour, lone wanderer with dogemeat as a companion, jet pack and vent mods on the PA with a Two-shot gatling laser with charging barrels mod. And all the other misc damage perks.

You'll be able to handle any situation at all. Even if someone tosses a fatman at you.

If you had a level in mind to achieve the build by I could probably give you something more specific.

Pretty much this. With PA and the lone wanderer perks you'll be unstoppable. Also the heavy weapons perk in Strength for extra damage because why not.

Stealth sniper build. Main perks Rifleman, Bloody Mess, Ninja. Lone wanderer with no companions.

I play on survival mode and absolutely destroy everything. I don't even where good armor and have not even used the Power Armor once.

Yeah I was considering that. Stealthy sniper, maybe with a suppressed weapon for close range. The stealth/crit perks are really good.

I have no interest in using power armor personally, I'm all about the fashion *finger snap*

You realize that Lone Wanderer doesn't work when you have a companion right?

I assume that they will patch this eventually so I wouldn't build on it.

Also going to want Gun Nut and science.

I have a legendary sniper that has the two shot perk. Shoots 2 bullets for each shot. Supressed 50 cal with an advanced scope. I can one shot death-claws with a sneak attack.

I have a suppressed shotgun for close range which also gets the buff from Rifleman

And I have a sick battle rifle for whenever I get into a heavy firefight.

I highly recommend this build.

I'm going to guess that Better Criticals doesn't stack with Ninja, but I'm hoping I'm wrong. Does anyone know? Or perhaps they're now considered "sneak attacks" and not necessarily criticals. /shrug

Science only works for laser rifles though, am I right? Which perk gives me mods for bullet based sniper rifles?

Science rank 1 (maybe 2, idr right now) is necessary for some of the higher-end mods for bullet-based weapons. Gun Nut is the main one, though.

You'll need Gun Nut for mods, Rifleman for damage, and maybe Sniper if you want longer breath-holding, etc. Might be worth taking Bloody Mess for the damage bonus, too.

Gun Nut 3 and Science 1 for the short / long recon scopes on the .50 chambered sniper rifle.

Edit: not sure where the gauss rifle falls as I have only gotten one just now and not used it yet as I only have like 100 2mm caseless ammo, but that one needs gun nut 4 and science 3 or 4 (can't remember right now) for scope mods, working on getting those perks right now so that I can start sniping with that instead of the .50

You need science 1 to get some high end mods for standard rifles also although not necessary for a strong sniper. As long as you get Gun Nut up to 3 you can build some heavy hitting rifles and shotguns with suppressors. You really don't need the sniper perk. Aiming comes down to your skill at aiming anyway. I have 7 perception but haven't felt the need to take a sniper perk at all but I may get the perk that allows you to shoot through walls but I think that would just be too OP for an already OP build. I have Rifleman 3, Bloody Mess 2, and Ninja 1 and that already seems to be plenty of damage buffs.

It works with him at the moment and he's pretty much there for the extra 1% of damage.

You will not notice any drop in combat effectiveness without him.

Nobody talks about chemist but it can destroy anything. You can pretty much stop time and unload multiple clips in anyone's face for up to 45 seconds or have bonuses for 8 to 24 minutes enough to get through a dungeon. Combine with chem resistance or party girl and stay hoped up on jet fuel. Armor and gun mods and any attacks you plan to use. Snipers more powerful but auto weapons are more versatile and common. Grim reaper is ok but this time action boy seems to be enough with high agility.

As some people stated (but didn't go far enough), accessing all the mods for ballistic guns will require one or two points in Science!. However, it's more than that - some advanced weaponry mod still require gun nut and some armor mods require Science! In addition, some settlement pieces will require a certain perk (even the caps collector). In short, taking all ranks of one crafting perk still won't get you all the mods for a given item.

I would imagine a stealth sniper build would be pretty OP when stacking the effects of Sneak, Rifleman, Mister Sandman, and Ninja.

I do know that Heavy Guns, Gun Nut, and Demolition can make the missile launchers OP. The missile gets a dmg modifier from Demo and the launcher gets one from the HG perk stacking on each other. I have made some pretty quick work of some high lvl enemies with my triple barrel missile launcher.

I've been using a lot of the pistol perks and I can seem to nearly one shot heads off at medium range... of course I am only level 18 at the moment. I was thinking about using the Dogmeat/Lone Wanderer thing myself because I like to hold 400 pounds of equipment.

Im using a crit stacking build. Attacks give AP, kills give AP, super high luck for crit accrual, high agility for the ninja and sandman perks, and ultimately gun fu, but a lot of advanced luck perks is where the magic happens. Also, combining a Lucky Weapon with this is essential, especially with the Tesla or Guns and Ammo books (more crit dmg!). Im using the quest weapon (Righteous Authority, modded Sci2, 5 Tesla books) and on Very Hard im murdering people in level 45 areas as a lvl 21. The rifle gets a full crit bar in 3 hits! And I have banker2 (eventually all of them) so I can store them for harder enemies. So its essentially a sneaky sniper, as it has great range, but when they get close, a Lucky Silenced pistol with Sneak perks sounds amazing.

Love this build.

Strength 10 running with power armor, heavy weapons, and melee with super sledge, or legendary sword
8 endurance for health and stamina
4 charisma attack dog and lone wanderer cause dog meat doesn't count
3 intelligence to upgrade mini gun if you have the points left. Do-able with the Special magazine under your son's crib

End up taking down death claws in 3 hits with super sledge
