I recently played Oblivion just for laughs and I was playing the Shivering isles DLC and I couldnt help but laugh at Sheogorath who says the most random things. So that got me curious. What are your stories of randomness?

When I was playing Oblivion and selling some ingredients to Falanu Hlaalu, and I decided to ask her about some stuff, and she proceeded to tell me

After I completed Malacatch's quest in OB, I ran away from the farm because I didn't want to fight those nasty guards in daedric equipment.
I managed to run away, get the hammer, went to Anvil, entered the Mages Guild, went to sleep... and after few hours I suddenly wake up and a Dunmer in Daedric armor and with a Daedric axe attacked me.

Now THATS what a true worker is: his boss might have been turned int a slave and he might have lost his temporary job, but he still hunted me down to Anvil and tried to finish the bastard who ruined his payment

CHEESE FOR EVERYONE!

Everybody remembers the soul-trap glitch from Morrowind right? C'mon, I know you all used it at least once!

Well, I originally descovered that glitch by myself, by accident, and I was like: "WTF! This is epic! I'm gonna post this onli- wait... nvm, it's already there."

I'll tell you the story.

I had played Morrowind for hundreds of hours already, and had started a new character. I was in Balmora and was planning on aimlessly roaming the land. So, before I set out I made a custom foritfy strength spell to help me when those damn bone-walkers attack. Little did I know I had accidentially added soul-trap to it. I started heading out and was constantly casting that spell to train my magic skill (not really paying attention to what I was doing). So, my first level character runs into a band of cliffracers, I decide to fight them. I pull out my dagger, and they all die in one hit! After half an hour, I figured out what had happened.

Why is that Nord naked.



Or... Not. That's just as much of a celebration if you don't like cheese.

Here are two situations which aren't really that weird but still quite odd.

First, I was walking from Skingrad to Anvil (not using fast travel for the sake of roleplaying) and I was shocked to find a man in Blades armor on the road fighting a bandit. It was Baurus! I helped him kill the bandit, and then he took off, running about the same speed as I could so I couldn't catch up to him to talk to him. I followed him all the way to Kvatch, where he ran past the open gate (I hadn't progressed the main quest at all) and proceeded into the city, into the chapel, and stopped next to Martin. What a hero.



Second, today, I went to Pell's Gate and saw Glarthir standing there. For this, I have no explanation. I'm still stumped as to why he was there, so far away from Skingrad. I didn't think his script allowed him to leave Skingrad ever, especially since I had started his quest and it was night time, he should have been waiting outside the chapel for me to continue the quest. He just shooed me away when I talked to him.

Once, I was walking along a canton in Vivec and I saw an Ordinator attacking the wall. I started a dialogue with him and he said, "Are you responsible for this?" Then ended the conversation and continued fighting the wall. As I was standing there being confused, another Ordinator came past and joined his friend in hacking up the wall. I just left them to their business.

Another time I was in Benirus Manor and there was a flash of red light and a naked Altmer body labeled "Assassin" fell out of the ceiling and landed in front of me.

Those n'wah walls are heretics!

One of the many that I remember now was during the quest in MW where you protect barenziah from assassins. I had prepared myself and sneak attacked one of them. This caused on of them to try to flee, because the door leading into barenziah's room wasn't locked, he tried to open it, but there was a script preventing it from opening. This caused the poor guy to rapid-click on the door and I heard what sounded like a machine gun going off as the "door locked" sound effect played.

Tarhiel apparently got a job with the Dark Brotherhood?

I'd have to say when I saw the Nord naked in Mournhold and talking to him. Also when I was adventuring in Morrowind going through dungeons and stuff, I run into Dagoth Ur's brother. For a second there I didn't notice him because he wasn't attacking me at first and just let his troops attack me. Then I saw him just chilling in the corner blending in the darkness with his dark skin and talked to him. The guy seemed pretty friendly as he offered me a drink but then I found out that it was for a sparring duel or so I try to remember. Once he drank his potion, he did this skip(LOL) whether for dancing or sparring warm up, I don't know, and then we fought and I won.

The several times I came across naked nords for the first time in Morrowind.
Also when I closed a door in oblivion when there was a corpse in the way and it stretched the body and made it jig out intensely me and my friend were weak lol.

I was playing Tribunal once and a voice behind me said "You're imagining things". I didn't know it was from the game (I was playing on the TV with surround sound, so it wasn't obvious that it was coming from speakers), and for a moment I seriously thought I was hearing voices.

It was in the batle of kwatch. I and a bunch of kwatch guard run into action beating crap out of things (I was altmer batlemage) , we fought inside when a group of legionares joined . An then it happned. One of the legionares must have shot a kwatch guard by accident and started a fight . I was desperate in needing meat shields for casting , but those dumbasses were fighting among them selfs till only one legionare was left(marksman) i was like WTF all the time killing scamp .

The next epizode of backstabing was when i escorted martin to his hiding place. I went on normaly, like i was used to do it in morrowind. I wanted to take a shortcut and we ecountered a bunch of bandints .(note that i went about 50m in front and killed every single thing, but there were too many of them) OMG here we go again. I dont know why i was busy beating the crap out of bandits, but in the meantime Jauffre and Martin were in combat (WTF) i did not have a calm spell so i watched as the most loyal servat of princ killed him . I wanted to jump and burn that bastard but i noticed that martin is getting up . And from that time they were ok .

When I was a newb, I was running to Caldera and was being chased by one of those big four legged lizard things. I can't remember the name of the monster but they are green and four legs. I had already been killed by one of them so I booted it to the town gates, the two legionnaires sprang into action and 1 shotted it and told me to "move along"! It isn't the craziest story but it made an impression on me.

When I found a Imperial Legion guard fighting the Adoring Fan. I don't know why, but he was.

When i had just discovered a brand new village in Oblivion with an Inn and the likes. I walked in eager to explore this new town, only to find nearly all of the inhabitants lying dead in the center of the town. Apparently i had missed a civil war or something..

I had a moment, where I snuck up on Umbra in her wrecked fort, I was stealthed but she knew I was there and all of a sudden she flipped out "NOW YOU DIE!!!!!" but I was still in stealth so she ran right by me and I had to chase her across the water (she was running while submerged and I followed on foot with aid of a potion or a spell I can't remember). She ended up in the Imperial City and taking out like a dozen guards before she was ganked by City Guard Archers.

It was the craziest thing to happen in Oblivion that I have seen.

1) I was meeting the thieves guild dude at midnight. I get there and he's running into a wall and saying all those combat things (i.e "This is the part where you fall down and bleed to death!"). Suddenly, Martin (yeah, Martin frickin Septim) comes up behind him with an axe and starts attacking him. Armand was knocked out, and when he came to, it was all cool. I don't know HTF Martin got there, because I hadn't completed any of the Main Quest yet, and I play on Xbox so I couldn't use console commands.

2) I randomly fell through the ground underwater and reappeared at someone's house near Chorrol (near, not in)

3) I was fighting some Orc I found in a ruin and then he falls through the floor. Later, I go to Anvil and see his corpse in my house.

As you can imagine, my disc is pretty screwed-up, lol

The thing that happened to me was extremely weird.While I was wandering in the daedric ruins of Assurnabitashpi I found Korst Wind-Eye standing in front of the entrance to the ruins.

Was it Bleakers Way? Because there's a quest there to murder opposing family members and plant evidence so they will blame each other andkill each other. Maybe there was a glitch that kickstarted that stage of the quest.
