what is the longest, largest dungeon mod?

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 11:08 am

hi all.

what is the largest and longest dungeon mod released? I see by the search
engine that "the deep" is mentioned, but it is not completed yet.
I should also add, please say if this dungeon is relatively bug free and compatible.

Ah Spelunking. caves, ruins, rooms.
I belonged to a caving club, here in Florida, for years. The largest here is Warren cave near gainesville, maybe 6-plus miles long.

I have read that most of the Oblivion dungeons are small.

thanks...freestone

Based on this description alone:
A Dark Elf outside Leyawiin leads you to investigate the disappearance of a nobleman in an ancient castle. One thing leads to another and you end up in a 50-cell dungeon containing a lost Ayleid city and an epic reward.

I'd go with http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35696.

Check out the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?showtopic=1233176, there are two so far (another soon) and they're pretty darn huge.

You definitely want to go through http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=1139939 mods. Dungeons are like, his thing. Including the aforementioned Forgotten Realm.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9769 is supposed to have an absolutely enormous dungeon in it.

In addition to those already mentioned, I would add Adense Epic Dungeon Update: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27520

At least one spelunker has commented on how parts of this one have captured what a real cave is like.

Two more which are large enough to get lost in:
Elsweyr_Leyawiin_Topal Bay Walkabout : http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30816
Depths of the Underdark : http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36101

LOL

I just wish The Deep would come out. That's the one I'm waiting for.

EDIT: Also Frostcrag Reborn is a very fun dungeon to play. Took me a long time to beat that one.

good Grief!

David bashers mods look incredible! I have tales already but the others advertise on the tin to be 40 or more hours long, some of them.
Some even look to be major quest mods.

Now I will see how they all will play along with OWCND + WAC.

I might even "have" to choose to uninstall all of the UL mods, if i want to use many of these extra dungeons, as my mod list is about to choke
on the 255 mod-limit!

thanks all for the suggestions so far.

Thanks a lot guys, I just installed a bunch of dungeon mods now. :celebration: I realized when reading this thread that there might not be enough caves/dungeons for my character to pillage.

Is this what you are referring to, Ethatron?

================
3. COMPATIBILITY
================
I've made this mod with Iliana's mod loaded first so it's compatible with hers. Moreover, in any case the question was raised I've given her mod priority. Taking place outside the official oblivion worldspace there is only the FCOM-related issue of creatures being spawned inside rocks. Perhaps someone can take a look at that, though it's not a major problem. From .72 on it is compatible with Kragenir's Death Quest[29].

If so, then what he is talking about is not a different worldspace as we see with Windfall and Dibella's Watch for example, but a worldspace outside the official boundaries (you can walk there if you disable boundaries).

For sogar and others who may be interested in additional dungeons not so huge but very innovative, I have no hesitation in recommending the many new dungeons included in Ayleid Steps: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16316

Aylied Ruins Expanded is not as polished but its added dungeons are just as inovative: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23384

I have created two huge dungeon mods, Adense Epic Dungeon and The Forgotten Realm. Both are available through David Brasher's profile on TesNexus, as he bug-fixed, fine-tuned and tweaked them!

Excellent! Thanks! I'm downloading it now as I speak! I remember reading about Alyeid Steps, but I didn't know it added new ruins.

All its added dungeons are mostly underground and accessed through step stones. There are a few doors hanging out in high out of the way places, but they are mostly exits.

My issue with Ayeid steps is that you have to either be a thief or member of the mages guild to start it.

Yes, seems it's a bit unlucky expressed. I was like, what? Elsweyr is in the Tamriel-ws, what's he doing in his mod? :D
Guess I'm going to give this a look now.

Well it only adds like 40 or 50 new dungeons, so that's easy to miss. . Seriously though, Ayleid Steps is one of my favorite mods for the game. The stepstone system just fits in perfectly.

Couldn't you read the books to start the quest without stealing them?

Well maybe newer versions have changed that, but when I ran through over a year or more ago I had to steal the books if not part of the mages guild - and not just out at the branches - at the university -so you had to get that far.

Not hard to do and you could console cheat a few things, but character breaking if you don't play a thief or mage.

No problem! Brasher deserves a huge amount of credits as well, since he had the final touch that magnified the experience I had already created! :D

Hm, didn′t know a few of those mentioned, neither...

Anyway, since this apparently is no longer about THE one largest dungeon anymore, here′s some more to check out:

- http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=138148 five mods (they are sort of belonging together reg. the loot, but you can also play them independently) are AFAIK mostly underground; check out the readmes (which unfortunately are a tiny little bit messy), because at least one of them has another mod (some armor IIRC) as requirement

- http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23384, more of an overhaul

- pretty huge apparently (sort of like Dwemer Subways, in a way  ) is http://www.gamefront.com/files/12738962/Kingdom_of_Almar____cleaned___1_5_ - check out readme, might have CUO (Cyrodiil Resource Pack) as requirement...

IIRC the issue was that the copies of the book were all in the "private" part of the guild's premises. You had to have joined, or picked the lock, to reach them.

However, I believe that got fixed and there is one copy you can reach as a non-member. I just can't recall where it is, but it's probably one of the MG chapters, maybe Cheydinhal, where there isn't much that's locked off other than the basemant.

Almar basically left lots of oddly placed doors throughout the vanilla caves so you could travel from one cave to the next in certain regions.

I found it kind of gimicky and crashed a lot.

Could be - usually I′ve too many mods loaded to tell them apart, and hardly ever played too much vanilla, so unfortunately there′s some kinds of mods (like ruins, landscapes, dungeons for example) running of which I couldn′t tell the name when I′m just encountering them ingame, or whether they even ARE mods and not just vanilla content.
Good to know - I just recall that it didn′t give me many conflicts (OBMM conflict detectors) & sounded sorta appealing, otherwise it wouldn′t have made its way into my load list.

P.S.: Guess you ARE keeping opinions about the mod separated from certain, once widespread opinions (not necessarily yours, I didn′t follow that whole thingy too closely back then) about the author...

They are additive of each other.

If you go through enough oddly shaped and placed doors in dungeons that lead to crashes - you try and find out what mod they come from. My games never crash on interiors - it stands out.
