What the? Moments in Oblivion #2

Post » Wed Dec 08, 2010 9:58 am

Another one I had forgotten about. I hadn't done the quest with Ulrich Leland yet, so he was there for the Battle of Bruma. His armor must have been destroyed during the battle, because I encountered him later on the road to Cheydinhal walking around in his underwear. I laughed for a good 10 minutes after that one. I followed him all the way back to town, and he never got his armor back on.

Has anybody run into necrophilia NPC, except the alchemist in Skingrad?
If you kill somebody in their bed, other NPC might use the bed and share the bed with the body. Yes it also work in single beds and bedrolls.

First time I saw it was very strange, I killed a sleeping bandit in a dungeon, left the room and continued to explore, then I come back I saw the detect life effect of someone sleeping in the bed, and another bandit behind a column. Now to kill the bandit one for one, I shoot the sleeping one, arrow at 5 meters range, hear it hit but no reaction from the bandit, either he should die or wake up, another arrow and no effect. Sneak up and found that he shared the bedroll with the body I had killed 10 minutes ago and the body shielded him from the arrows.
Has also seen it in houses if you kill somebody in bed other will use it and ignore the body.

Another strange thing is that if I sleep in a bed in a guild at night, other might use the bed as you don’t actually use it, however then I wake up they don’t lie in it they stand in the bed sleeping and are tilted in a 45 degree angle. No it’s not a aborted going to bed animation, totally strange.

That one is easy to explain.
When the 3 day item code reset happens, any armored NPC who has had their armor damaged, will not wear their damaged armor and will store their damaged armor in their inventory. I use it extensively on any and all guards, just to acquire their armor for grinding my armorer and mercantile skills.

The necrophilia NPCs even happens to dead NPCs sitting slumped in chairs.

My entry for the WTF moments comes from my first use of high level Chameleon and Invisibility enchanted items, and a damage armor and weapons spell in the Talos Plaza district of the IC.
Normally when you attack a guard with a damage armor/weapons spell, the guard will try to arrest and/or kill you. But because I was unable to be seen at all, after being hit, the guard began running around Talos Plaza in a panic.

Well, I saw a floating slaughterfish once.
It wasn't moving, just floating up in the air.
When I punched it, it dropped back down and Vilja killed it.

I still remember this four years after it happened since it was one of those what the **** just happened moments. I was running back to Chorrol from Anvil. The terrain gets to be steep but manageable if I run. From out of nowhere a wolf runs and tries to attack but its momentum propels him above my head and its body goes careening to the valley below. As I watch the wolf roll down another one does the suicidal plunge to get at me with the same results. Now with mods my character can turn into a wolf but refrains from it because of that.

lol wow...looong time ago I rememeber when you first posted that lol!

My character was summoned to Seridur's house the other day, and when she entered, Cylben Dolovas, the Dunmer who always wears the fancy armor, was walking around in his birthday suit. :blush2:

Yea the first one startled the crap out of me. Now every time I start up Oblivion I think of those wolves.

Another good one was when I got attacked by an archer while riding Shadowmere. He knocked me off with a power attack. I couldn't attack so Shadowmere had to do all the fighting for the next 20 minutes dragging me behind her to town. I looked like a knocked out bull rider.

That happened to me during the repair the orry quest. Sneak up on the bandit camp, snipe one bandit, the other one saw his comrade got short but could not see me, high sneak, no line of sight and far away. However a dear was nearby and in his wisdom he thought the dear was the shooter and started chasing it, hysterically funny except that he was carrying the orry part, if he died or got stuck far away it would break the quest so I had to chase him in around 5 minutes before he run into a fire elemental and stopped to fight.

One strange moment was when Gogron gro-Bolmog from the DB told me: "For example, this one time I had a contract to kill a little Nord girl at her birthday party. She asked me if I was the jester! So I said to her, 'No, I am a messenger of death.' You should have seen the look on her face! Ha ha ha ha! Anyway, she won't be seeing age six!"
I mean, what the [censored]?

I've fell through the floor twice without any warning before. Once when i was fighting my way up a tower in a oblivion gate and another when I fell in the water in the sewers when I had just made a new character. That same character then went on to find two Imperial Legion foresters trying to murder each other and a bandit got in the crossfire. I have also had two mages on one of the recommendation quests murder an innocent guard who was just passing by.

Last time I played, about an hour ago, I did the quest where the first small Oblivion gate appears outside of Bruma and captain Burd accompanies you. He was wearing his yellow Bruma chainmail all through the dungeon, but immediately after I grabbed the sigil stone and we teleported outside, he was wearing an upper class green outfit, but he still had his huge claymore strapped to his back. Apparently he changed clothes between dimensions.

At least he was wearing something. I've had a few bare chested Kvatch guys in my midst after completing the entire breaking the siege quest.
