What the races should look like in your opinion

Khajiit have made the most dramatic changes in appearance between each game than any other race. I expect the same for Skyrim.

i don't see how cathay-Rahts wouldn't be stealthy, yes they're one of the buffest khajiit but even so, a big cat like a tiger/lion is still very nimble and agile much like their small feline counterparts. seeing cathay-Rahts this time around for skyrim would make me squee for finally having a "big cat" race which is still the most stealth oriented race when compared to the humans/mer/argonians.
Because having another combat race (even if they became the combat-stealth mix) would over saturate the number of combat races already. Face it, the Cathays are the muscle of the khajiit. Making them weak, agile, fast cats would cheapen them, and may as well make the khajiit Suthay-Rahts, like the previous khajiit (save for arena and daggerfall). Yes it would be nice if there were more variations of playable khajiit, but a race's starting stats is pretty much lore of what they're going to be like.

There's already 3.5 combat races (nord, orc, redguard, and the half being imperial), 2.5 magic (breton, altmer, and half being argonians), and 2.5 stealth (khajiit, bosmer, and half argonian), with dunmer being the jack of all trades and partly imperials.

Actually, I agree with his choice of what the orsimer should look like. Of course the MW one would be ideal, but the design is old and may not translate to newer graphics that smoothly.

Well, that's fine, but I just don't think that pic does the concept of the Orsimer of TES any justice. I would like them to be a drastic improvement from OB (but building off of the OB concept art), with more of the throwbacks to the more artistic MW concept. Just better overall, I think.

Even though the Orsimer are ugly/cursed to be Pariah Folk, they should still have redeeming aesthetic qualities for the player to admire, don't you think? I just want to be able to make a character of any race look good this time around. Unlike what was possible in OB, imo....

^lol nice picks dude, but keep 'em more evenly distributed to all races please, kthnx :P

By the way, still regarding the Orcs: usually face and hair mods pisses me off to no end with their L'Oreal-endorsed perfect hairs and cookie-cutter pretty-face-yet-creepy-looking-somehow for every single friggin NPCs (seriously, the first time I've installing the Morrowind Comes Alive mod I was losing my appetite to play it almost instantly), but this one looks pretty good actually: http://morrowind2009.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/muzgob-comparison.jpg

That's a nice looking Orc...

I like the way the lines in her face are etched in... I think this adds a "roughness" to the Orc's face... which is very much needed. In Oblivion, they look like Pillsbury dough-boys

You're getting the japanese idea from Morrowind, right? The codex for Morrowind said the orcish armor shown in game was an Altmer design.

I tend to think most elves have oriental influences. that or perhaps native American. I tend to think of the orcs in TES as being the Mongolians / Huns of Tamriel

My by far most favorite looking Orc is btw the Halforc Barbarian example player character from the Dungeons and Dragons (DnD) 3.0 or 3.5 Player Handbook (PHB):

Yes he's ugly, but he is also very manly, very strong and very heroic.

found an interesting art of dark elves that pretty much describes of how i'd like to see the dunmer so might as well bump the thread while i'm at it.

the armor on the female though is quite skimpy compared to the male but i was more interested in the faces anyways (the cheeks could be a little more gaunt though).

They really need to improve the dark elves this time around.

Morrowind did it right.I really like the coal mine voice all the men had.

Imagine an Ordinator saying their favorite saying "We're watching you scum..."

Now imagine it again but this time in Oblivion's dumner voice.

Yeah :(....

Bosmer = Hipsters, but with leather, and Amazonian and sub-Sahara African influences. It is known.

Better. Needs more scarf, ironic tunic, and gaged ears. Thats the right though though, more tribal and less Tolkein.

I'm 100% serious, btw.

so for bosmer, they could be an amalgamy of these 4:

for altmer, i'd choose a mix between these two:

edit: back on the serious mode, for the dunmer and bosmer I'd like to have them possessing a more sinewy look; a gaunter face for the former and an unkempt look for the latter.

I don't care as long as Argonians look something like this:

Some good concept art, but the flowing hair really dramatizes them. We won't get that in Skyrim. So far, I've really liked the screen of the orc. I'm hoping the Breton males will look more like the Oblivion concept (a bit mer ish). The Imperials should definitely go back to a more Roman look.

My biggest concern is how the male Bosmer will end up. I really hope they don't look as stupid as they have in the past couple games. They're my favorite race, but I can never bring myself to play one because of the look and the voice. Granted, in Oblivion I could change the look entirely, but I want something that looks distinct (not just a human with pointy ears).

I really liked the Bosmer male concept (if only it were a little more animalistic and less Bretony) from Oblivion.
