What is the real six of the Vault Dweller, Choosen One, Lone

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 5:31 pm

I created this topic because i wanted everyone's opinion as to what they really think what the Vault Dweller, the Chosen One, the Lone Wanderer, and The Courier's six is. I know when you made your character, you picked your character and tried both sixes to see how it went, but this is not the discussion for this topic. After playing through the games, and reading through Canon sources, what would you feel about it now, What six would you feel is the four main characters? In my Humble Opinion, and i could be wrong, i would say the Vault Dweller is more than likely male, the Chosen One is Definetly Male, the Lone Wanderer is likely Female( i'm still putting my case together for that one), and The Courier, well, i am still playing NV, and i am split on that one, though part of me is leaning toward Female here as well.

The Vault Dweller is Male- it's confirmed by canon. And I'm inclined to believe the Courier is as well (take a good look at the courier on the opening movie.) The other two... we can't really tell, even from in-game sources.

Vault Dweller is male, that we all can agree on.
Choosen One I'd have to say is male, is it canon that he knocked up Bishop's wife or daughter?
Fallout 3 I have no idea. I'd say male aswell, since... well, it'd just feel right with Amata being his childhood friend of the opposite six, and boys always has a crush on their female childhood friends, and then you meet Sarah who is a strong female that doesn't let guys (like you) to boss her around, so again it feels more right with a male Lone Wanderer.
In Fallout New Vegas, I'd have to say you're male aswell :/ Although this game would be the easiest to say that the Courier can be either.

The player character's are also always http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20050315190512/fallout/images/thumb/c/cd/Into_the_desert.jpg/830px-Into_the_desert.jpg http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090720172206/fallout/images/7/7d/Chosen_One_Car.jpg http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20101218105061/fallout/images/thumb/2/2b/Fallout-wp8-1600x1200.jpg/830px-Fallout-wp8-1600x1200.jpg.

Doesn't stop me from playing female characters, though. ^^

I consider all of the protagonists male.

Choosen One I'd have to say is male, is it canon that he knocked up Bishop's wife or daughter?

This is left ambiguous. Everyone who mentions him in New Vegas refers to the Chosen One as "that Tribal", so one could easily argue that the Chosen One was female and that Angela Bishop married a wasteland wandering type, or she or her mother had a child with someone else who ended up being similar to the one mentioned in that particular epilogue. However I'm inclined to believe that the "Mr. Bishop" mentioned by that one guy in New Vegas is the Chosen One's son since it seemed (to me) like an obvious shout out to that particular ending.

If they're all male it feels very... sixist I guess. At least one protagonist should be female.
Can't be Vault Dweller and can't be Chosen One, so it'll have to be Lone Wanderer, Courier or Warrior.

Proof?

For Fallout, the Vault Dwellers Memoirs.

For Fallout 2, Bishop is still in power, and he has a daughter. (Only the male Chosen one impregnate Mrs. Bishop, obviously.)

Fallout 3, Lone Wanderer is said to be a man by some devs after hearing "Him" when refering to the Lone Wanderer.

New Vegas, The Courier is just going to be male, canonocity is sixist.

Vault Dweller/Chosen One are most definitely male, but I think it is ambiguous for Courier/LW. Also, Gabe, how is it sixist? Why does there have to be one female protagonist? It's like when people point out that "herpderp there are no black main characters, RASISM!" in whatever work of fiction. It is not saying that females are inferior or anything (they are given equal abilities to men in every game).

As others have pointed out the Chosen One is also Male. So it comes down to Lone Wanderer and the TheCourier.

Poll does not have the "Warrior." Poll is Racist! lol.... Add the Warrior :stare:

I did some checking, and i will agree about the Vault Dweller, the Chosen One i figured pretty much myself, but i still am not convinced about the Lone Wanderer and the Courier, though i do like the little bit about Montana if the Courier is Male, and i think the jury will be out on that one for quite a while until we form our opinions.

I'd say that the Warrior of Fallout Tactics is female (http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070217233159/fallout/images/0/01/Wilma_fbos0002.jpg, harhar!) And the main character of the game which we do not speak of aswell. http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090707140728/fallout/images/0/02/WallNadia.jpg, is it?

The timeline isn't official, and just because you could say that in the game if you are male and have the Lady Killer perk, it doesn't mean that it happened.

Game developers, computer games and those playing them are all very highly male orientated, so the main character that you will be playing will almost certainly be male. And with that logic, they are all male, twisted and sixist as that may be, smile.

A game's introduction "You are a girl that seeks to save ......"

What! what! ......

Many games that have female main characters just feel like they are there to be sixy. Often in some really tight outfit, with a curvy body, big boobs and a beautiful face. And I can't play games with girls like that. I like Zoey from L4D and Faith from Mirror's Edge, girls with not-so-curvy bodies, smaller boobs, and baggy clothes. :)

I would never be able to play Starcraft:Ghost had it been made. I mean, seriously, what's up with the http://wallhits.com/data/media/5/starcraft_ghost_03_1600x1200.jpg
