What is the strangest thing you have seen, heard, etc in Obl

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 11:24 am

I am talking about the strangest thing you have seen, overheard, or whatever. There are many but my absolute strangest is actually hilarious. Of course it is M'aiq the Liar, this "furlicker" is a walking easter egg. Full of issues that fans wanted in Oblivions but never got. For example, "Some People wish to throw weapons, this seems foolish to Maiq" on the issue of throwing knives, etc. Another example off development issues is when Maiq says that the Argonian People look better now, hinting at the upgrade pixels from morrowind to oblivion.

Your posts are awesome, I will add a few of yours to my portfolio! In General there are many Random Conversations in Oblivion that can be strange, hilarious, creepy, and all the above. Especially when talking to a Skooma addict! Also there are many strange easter eggs, many youtube videos depict very strange things, here is a link to one of them (IT IS NOT MINE). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLajTS9-C2s (Copy and post to address bar or click on). The Shivering Isles is overall wierd with things you can only expierence through playing.
Thank you for all your stories please keep them coming!

Two or three hours after leaving the Imperial sewers for the first time I ran in to Falanu Hlaalu, iI wasn't sure anything would be able to top that and then I met Lord Rugdumph and his daughter - wonderful :D

I found a weird giant mushroom forest deep in a cave, which was totally unexpected. I can't remember where it was though.

To those unaware, this is what I am talking about:

Sneak shot on bandit, he dies but his friend start searching for the attacker, he sees a deer and logically assumed it had to bee the shooter so he started chasing it. Downside was that he was carrying one of the orry parts so I had to track him down. All over the map, deer followed by bandit followed by me. He was attacked at an oblivion gate and stopped to fight so I could kill him after some minutes.

In the Shivering Isles (don't know if this counts) I discovered the sad tale of woe of Robert Winewski. I actually laughed out loud! :celebration:

One of the strangest things I've ever seen happened when I entered the Imperial City Elven Gardens District at night. I was heading towards the Foaming Flask when I saw http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/1404/someonehadabadday.jpg And when I went inside the Foaming Flask, I saw http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/7688/thatsdifferent.jpg Let's see Robin Hood pull that one off.

I'm pretty sure I once saw someone swimming in the concrete/stone area around the Geart Oak in Chorrol. And sometimes, when I jump across the water, I'll get to land and I'll be floating in the air, stuck in mid-jump.

He is obviously spreading rumors about how he died, so he can sell his artwork for more Septims than usual. But no one told him to do that, he would have to hide away from people, not shout how he was killed the night before.

But... Allectus isn't an artist?!

I always spin out when I see fish flopping up and down on a bridge. It is always unexpected.
And the huge mudcrab at the bottom of that cave is also awesome.

There was some awesome glitch
you use some sort of fire magic, whether its spell or enchanted bow or arrow, and you shoot an imperial legion dude while he is on a horse
and you killed him in one hit, he would fall on the ground dead but his hips would still be moving as if he were riding the horse
and you would be attacked by his ghost
which you cant see even with detect life
and you cant fight back against
Good stuff

He is a secret underground artist.

And I had th ebest laugh when I was playing a bit just now. Two Imperials start to talk,
"I saw a mudcrab the other day, Ugly Creatures."
"NOOOOOOOOOOO"
"So I've heard."
"Good day"

Recently I was leaving Castle Skingrad and as I was passing through the door from the courtyard to the bridge, I glimpsed http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Shum_gro-Yarug going through with me. Immediately on the other side, I hear "YAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!" and he's nowhere to be seen. The Bugs section on that wiki page says that he occasionally likes to fall to his death from the bridge, so I had to reload from the autosave again and again until he didn't die.

You occasionally find dead guardsmen under that bridge, too. There seems to be a lot of drinking going on in Skingrad. It must be the wine.

one of the weirdest things ive ever witnessed was when i finnished one of the fighters guild quests thats located outside of leyawin in that small town.

what happened was that i finnished the quest and the people in the town were supposed to be dead on the ground.. however.. they were about 10 feet in the air standing and floating in the direction towards leyawin very slowly... i searched through their boddies and grabbed random gold and they still continued to float all together in like a chain or belt for miles. i followed them to the edge of the game where they floated on in the distance... great times

Oh man, I've never seen that happen in game, but that video definitely gave me a good laugh. After the door opens, it totally looks like he's slapping himself silly.
