Just found out that my ping is better to NA than EU, but when I switch the server from EU to NA I have a 20gb download.
Why? two downloads for the same game what's this all about, is it going to change, or will I je to start on EU and Download when I am working.
Can you character even go from EU to NA or would I need to start a new character again?
Seriously, never seen two downloads for different servers before.

It's because of the EU or NA files need to run. Two different file set. As I understand.

The characters are not shared between server so you will need to create new character.
There is a way to avoid downloading it all again. You copy the folder from the EU folder to the non EU folder.

Pretty sure they said everyone will be on the NA server and those in EU will automatically and seamlessly migrate to those servers once they become available. Not sure about the download, though.

No, the server is separated already. Howeverm the EU server is currently physically located in the same datacenter. They will migrate the physical server to EU datacenter later.

Bear in mind before deciding which server to use, that all NA and EU servers are currently in the same place - the EU server (or should I say bank of servers) will be moved after launch to its proper location.
So the ping you have now might be different in a couple of weeks.
