Yeah, pretty much shows it worked fine. You don't like DT because it was in New Vegas... We all know this. If Beth announced DT tomorrow you'd change your stance.

>Going from light armor to Power armor and getting basically zero increased damage negation from basically all weapons is fine.

Ok.... whatever you say.

The generalization in that math is about as biased as you.

Meanwhile actually playing New Vegas shows it worked fine.

Yep, worked so fine the game's own lead designer changed it in his mod and added DR to medium and heavy armors, citing that, without DR, medium and heavy armors were useless.

But you know, one of the game's lead designers is totally wrong about the game he made.

The system needs to be improved, we have discussed how to improve it numerous times: the addition of mild damage resistance. The only thing you've actually argued here is that you think combat should be as slow as possible - that's boring.

Generalization in math? Either it's wrong or it's right, there is no grey area open to interpretation.

Medium and Heavy armor worked fine for me. Worked even better with JS's mod.

If anything should be mild its DT, adding in too much DT just leads to the problems NV has, light armor becoming way too powerful, way too fast, and totally outclassing everything else because it lacks any disadvantages.

The only "wokred fine" because the game was so broken everything worked the same.

It takes 2 armor types and two weapons and tries to justify it was broken for every piece of armor and weapon. A few things it didn't even take into account. That's not the whole picture. That's a generalization.

... Your bias is showing again.

Agreed. Improve, never cut unless it's for some reason a necessity.

>Saying what one of the game's own lead designers said is being biased.

If that your retort for everything?

All I've seen you do is claim Bethesda is dumbing down, and saying anyone who disagrees is simply biased.

Honestly, THAT is a sign of bias more then anything else.

Fallacy. You are biased in general. As nearly every post of yours shows. If Beth says it, you defend it. If they don't you object. I've said nothing about Josh Sawyer however. Your game is transparent.

Ignored.

The proper solution is to make power armor more attractive, gameplay-wise.

What other things are not taken into account. It's an example, would you have him list every single one in the game to prove his point? I'd say the burden of proof in now on you to come up with an alternate example disproving his claim. don't just scream bias, fight fire with fire and present some opposing math.

... Every other weapon or armor.

Meanwhile, my original post stands. Remove DT=dumbing down.

His argument is that DT is "broken" because it doesn't increase survivability as much as DR.

It's not supposed to, because very high DR makes you nigh-invulnerable and enemies tedious. In New Vegas it's easy to get there by using Med-X, Slasher, and Battle Brew. Everything becomes an absolute joke if you do that. We already know how it goes; it turns Deathclaws from something that hits for 100 damage to something that hits for 20.

One does that.... by giving it far more DR then any other type of armor, and making it the only armor that can hit, or at least come close, to the 80% damage resist cap.

Light armor retains its usefulness, despite having far lower DR, by

-Not taking up as much inventory space.

-Not making a lot of noise, making sneak easier.

-Not slowing movement speed by 20% like heavy armor does.

-Not costing as much to repair, and thus making keeping it at its max condition far easier.

-Being far more common in the wastes, thus being far easier to find things to repair it with, and being far easier to keep at its max condition.

-Possibly adding in a stamina regen bonus perk like Skyrim.

Basic system of tradeoffs.

Also, just in general. LOL at anybody thinking they can accurately balance (balance itself being subjective) any Beth or Beth type RPG. They've never had a "balanced" one before.

No math = no counter argument. srry you lose.

I know what his argument is, i have been following this entire thread. i rarely post in thread without reading all of it first and never chime in on an already in progress discussion without reading it all.

Terrible news if they dumb down Fallout 4 even more by removing DT. A system Beth never included in 3 because... Dumb down.

Don't even bother, he has no intent of having an actual reasonable discussion with anyone.

At least we have basically hit the 200 post mark and the thread will close.
