I only started playing Oblivion for 2 weeks after playing skyrim for many months , while i am having a blast there is one thing that really bothers me
thats lockpicking , i find it frustrating it is making me nervous and is a over the top useless timesink
my opinion anyway

So my question is , is there a trick to it , i know there are spells to open them , but what if you are not using magic , like playing some magic aversive barbarian for example
