What's the use of suggestion and wishlist threads?

If the game is coming out in a little less than a year, isn't it pretty safe to assume that at the very least the feature planning has been locked down?

Ah well, you never know maybe they will just now decide to add spears and crossbows when they see everyone begging for them.

Or at the very least the devs can get some inspiration for the new lines of M' Aiq...

It's just so people can channel their excitement without having million new threads per day saying the same thing.

Or more likely the proles have such self-entitlement and rationality issues that they think that Bethesda will bend their game over backwards to fulfill their various inane desires.

There are examples of Bethesda acting on forum suggestions... Like cutting polearms because they won the least votes on a weapon poll.

You never know, someone on here could have an incredible idea that one of the devs reads and is like "Wow now why didn't I think of that" or they could say "Hm thats an interesting idea maybe I should bring it up at the next meeting".

This.

Also, wasting time in anticipation for the game, and to satisfy our Elder Scrolls addictions, for now.

Something to do?

I spent more time on the forums for new vegas than actually playing it :teehee:

I'd say that right now, their use is showing all the people who asked before for the single suggestions thread to be split up what happens when that's done. The Skyrim forum is a mess of a half-dozen threads with the same subject getting scrolled off the front page and replaced every ten minutes.

Right now the suggestions are likely just for fun, and what fun they are.

Who knows, maybe while reading some posts here, the spark of a new idea shines over the head of one of the developers, and call his buddy saying:

"Hey budd, I heard the other day that you had some problem with...

Can you test if that can be solved by ....?

While reading the posts it just came to my mind that we can avoid your problem by going the other way, like this..."
