Well they had 3 betas 2/3 had problems that were NOT resolved, they spent the last few years working on in, i expect it to work properly when it comes out. even now there are still kinks and such, some people could call it "Bad good old fashioned BAD!"

This is one thing that people don't understand.

No game is perfect when it releases. Every game has bugs, no matter how extensive the testing and no matter how extensive the development. Sometimes it takes upwards to about a week, or to an entire month, just to fix these issues and make the game playable for everyone.

i dont think you even own the game. yes drr every game has its bugs, but no other game has bugs this bad. The online barely works, the campaign is full of **** up AI, the game doesn't even work with sli/xfire yet. these bugs should NEVER be in a game on release!

what you dont understand is that this game has been in development for 3 years, and most of the problems are 100% armature problems even i could probably fix.

OP is retarded. Please don't breed.

I don't understand the mentality of some people, these days.

The original post makes clear and concise points that isn't agreed upon by a vast majority, so that makes him a retard for at least offering his thoughts to the rest of the community? This is a pretty damn unfair attack that's completely unwarranted.

Could probably be explained by his first paragraph:
Seriously, at what point did PC gamers become stuck up self opinionated idiots... posts and whines from ungrateful idiots...
Antagonising a broader audience by calling them idiots twice in your introductory paragraph alone kinda warrants a retaliation. Not to mention the overall tone of the rest of his wall of text is antagonising, that coupled with the fact most of his claims can be pragmatically and scientifically refuted doesn't lend him any credence.
Let them rage at him, don't be the hero coming to his defense when he evidently deserves it

You really can't articulate a good argument, it's like looking at a what a brain-dead chimp accomplishes by drooling all over the keyboard. Most games don't even support multi-GPUs completely. It's almost pointless to have two GTX 570's, especially since no game is really capable of fully utilizing that much power, if you're pissed about spending 60 bucks on a game you built your rig around, then you're more than just a little bit excessive, having dual GPUs, a 4.2GHz Processor, 8gigs of DDR5 RAM... it's all pointless right now. You're just a forum-dwelling creature that probably hasn't seen any light source but the monitor inside your cave. You have almost 470 posts in the forum. Do you even know what the sun looks like? It seems more like you've become one of those internet warriors who just farts around in forums without having any other life except these confines of text.

Games aren't perfect at release, they never will be, especially big titles like Crysis 2. I don't know where the f*ck you've got this */sarcasm brilliant and original idea of perfection from */sarcasm, but I know there's never been a completely finished game at release, ever. There's always good ideas that are cut, bugs that aren't fixed, or crunch time that f*cks over the quality assurance and development process. Company cuts, budgets, etc... EA cares too much about pocketing their money and tossing products into the wild, because they're one of two mega-publishers in the western development sphere. Activision isn't any better by any means.

To support my argument, I bring up the very recent fiasco that was Call of Duty: Black Ops (For PC). They patched that game to kingdom come, and it still runs like **** on a shingle for most people. Terribly optimized and over-modified idTech 4 engine, because it was pushed out in less than a year like a premature fetus. Yes, that's Call of Doodie. Whereas Crysis 2 runs just fine. Sure, there's flaws with the AI, but the AI in most other games can't independently operate like it does in the Crysis series. Sure, there are flaws with the Crysis 2 AI, but I can't name how many absurd moments I've run into AI in Crysis (1) that was magically floating in mid-air driving an invisible jeep, taking cover next to explosive barrels, bugging out and tea-bag-dancing the ground, magically spotting me, etc.

The game works fine online now. The servers have been patched and updated.

Cheating has been around since the birth of online multiplayer, quit biching. You obviously have way too much free-time on your grubby little hands.

P.S. Dear mongoloid, an armature is a skeletal framework structure that supports something. If you meant amateur, you failed horribly at speaking your native language.

Lol you're talking out of your ass.

I use 3 GTX 480's and I have a LOT of games that utilize them to 100% in SLI. Try playing a game on 3 screens at 5760x1080 with just one GPU. Just because you can't afford it, doesn't mean it's a waste of the power. That just sounds like sour-graqes-thinking to me.

Seriously, at what point did PC gamers become stuck up self opinionated idiots who expect the world from a day 1 product

This is the sad part with developer apologists nowadays. They are ok with paying for a game knowing full well it won't work at day 1 and let the developers pvssyfoot around and become lazier and lazier. You know, when the internet was less widely used as it is now, games were put out to be perfectly working for any system. There were very few cases bugs and glitches. Even less of those that make the game unplayable. What has the gaming industry come to? Rabid fanbois that will condemn anyone who is not OK with having a pathetic excuse for a game launch? I can't even tell you how good this game is because quite frankly, the game is unplayable for me with dual GPUs.

I've never witnessed a game launch quite like Crysis 2 ever. So many game breaking thing that require so many workarounds. Hell, some things there ARE no workarounds (releasing multiplayer without an anticheat or authenticator? How stupid can you be?).

I really wanted to give this game a chance. I really did, but I suppose I'll cut my loses of $60 and no longer support this kind of software development. It's a big shame, really.

Yeah, wouldn't it be sweet if our other businesses could be run like a Game Dev?

Buy a Cell-Phone...

"Oh hey, by the way, you guys forgot to give me a battery with this thing."
"Oh, the battery isn't included in the box, it's sent at a later date."
"I see. Well can you tell me how long it will be till I recieve the battery to go with my phone so I can make calls?"
"No."
"Well since I can't make calls with this phone, can I return it to you and wait till the battery arrives later?"
"No, the phone was already registered in your name, it's yours for life"
" Okay, thanks I guess it must be hard to always have a battery for every phone, I'll understandingly let you keep my money while I wait"

Seriously, at what point did PC gamers become stuck up self opinionated idiots who expect the world from a day 1 product... This entire forum section is filled with complaining and biching about a over all well done game, posts and whines from ungrateful idiots who seem to have forgotten exactly what PC gaming is supposed to be all about: Actual game play.

Calling a game a console port due to having a older version of Direct X, even though it A: Looks better then its DX10 predecessor and console versions, and B: Runs better and faster on PC's, is rather a lame argument. So what if Crytek actually hired some programmers who knew what the hell they were doing for once and made a game that don't need a computer built by NASA to run yet still looked and ran better then most other 'console' engines. DX11 isn't a big priority for them, not because PC gaming isn't a big priority, but because 94.4% of computer users don't have $4000 PC's filled to the brim with 20GB and 4 graphic cards that can take full of use of the overall, small increase in visuals (There are more people on DX8 and below then DX 11). The fact that the aforementioned $4000 PC isn't needed to run Crysis 2 isn't a sign of a console port, it's a sign of competent programmers. Anyone who's played CoD knows what a ported engine runs like... (Heck there are several PC engines that run worse then this)

And anti cheat doesn't work, the day someone makes a hack free FPS, will be the day the same company also cures world hunger and several kinds of cancer. Punkbuster doesn't work, VAC doesn't work, practically every anti-cheat system created doesn't work. It isn't that Crytek hates all Pc gamers, just on such a moddable system making something hack free is impossible (If the pentagon can't stop people looking at their secrets, what chance does a game company have again?). Yes a few of the exploits are a little laughable, but at the same time not uncommon. Even a year odd after it's release there was a certain console command in Left 4 Dead that allowed you to stop a versus game in its tracks without owning the server, and Valve are hardly a 'consolized' company.

And a side note to this, looking at a lot of the 'claims', 99% of the people you claim to be hacking, are just better then you. In practically every FPS these kinds of claims are flung around by little minded people who can't accept that someone might just have more skill then them.

As for the constant bug claims: PC development isn't easy, and a lot of network issues are the fault of the user. PC games will have, and always have had hardware related bugs, due to the fact there are so many variable to program for. Some are worse then others, but as games go the first week of Crysis 2 hasn't been bad (Had slight connection issues myself, and a weird shader issue where my screen occasionally goes black.)

This unneeded negativity over anything that seems even similar to the consoles is rather annoying, consolization in MOST cases is a good thing; like most people who aren't living with their parents, I rather like the ability to play new games without upgrading my computer every 3 months (AKA Crysis 1), and streamlining complex controls is hardly a bad thing (Just because something is harder, doesn't make it more skilled). The only issue that may arise is game play, which if people would stop frothing with rage for 5 seconds, would realize hasn't been. I couldn't really imagine using the entire nano-suit + additional movement techniques to the best ability on a controller, and rather then most consolized games where shooting in the general direction is a good tactic, here actual aiming is rewarded, with head shots doing far more damage, something I can't see people making full use of with a controller.

In summary, regardless of what you thought, this isn't anything new, even before the console era. PC's are hard to develop for and will have bugs due to their modability, anti-cheat systems don't work, and bears are on occasion known to **** in woods. Either stop playing the game and go back to whatever game you think does all these wondrous things from a day 1 release (And tell me what it is so I can play it), or just stop the constant self entitled whining.

Ranting over, before I make myself feel old by mentioning 'gamers these days' and how they need to spend more time off my lawn....

if you remove content out of the official that only can be used by pc systems then you talk about console ports

every game have cheats yes i agree, but if developers makes it that easy that you can change some settings then stop making games.

we where promised a anti cheat system from day one.

we didnt had one TBH we still dont have one still see cheaters around.

go check every folder inside your game, everything is converted from xbox360- ps3 to pc, that means straight port.

if crysis was made for pc they didnt had any one these problems why? they didnt expect people to modify files to cheat, ( our expected that console gamers wouldnt if you cant modify files on console you dont need a anti cheat system get it?....) thats why i expect soon that xbox360/ps3 gamers are going to modify files to cheat as easy as some pc gamers did.

all these bugs glitches cheaters are just the start watch in a few days /weeks how much console complaints you get. this is just the start.

do you see any blizzard game on release day that its completly smashed and broken? I DONT FCKN THINK SO.

how can they make so perfect game and others cant? especially those under EA badge are just piece of ****... seriously.

Best thread on here for about a week. I had a blast finishing the singleplayer part.
It looked awesome, played awesome. Crysis 2 is feature-rich and diverse and deserves the title "blockbuster".

No title is perfect on release day. But this whole "consolized / I want my money back / Crytek stole my money"-rants are just plain childish and ridiculous. They patched in DirectX10 back in the days with their older titles and they probably will do so with Dx11 for this titles. This whole whining is really unnecessary.

But maybe I'm just too old for this "peer group".

+1

Game Developers nowadays lie straight into our faces without turning red. It's just silly what many game developers became in the last years, just silly.

You know, back in the days you buyed a game and really had a FULL GAME without gamebreaking bugs (yeah here a little glitch and there a tiny bug but nothing you really have to be pissed about) now, 10 years later developers sell you Alpha Versions for 40-60 euro.

Honestly, people that make these threads complaining about pc gamers complaining about this game either:

1. Didn't play through Crysis and Warhead

2. Are young in age, and GREEN in pc gaming history. And by history I mean probably about the last 15 years. From Halflife, to Wolfenstein, to the original Quake, to Alice, Clive Barkers Undying, Unreal Tournament 1, Mech Warrior 2 &3, Alone in the Dark, X-Wing, Tie Fighter........I could go on all day about pc classics that made pc gaming a different breed of gaming from consoles.

3. Are console fanboys, And are also young.

4. Played Crysis and didn't finish it.

5. Didn't like Crysis 1, and because of that, didn't bother with Warhead.

6. Did not bother with Crysis cause their pc at the time was too slow to play it, so now they can't comprehend what all the anger is about with the new game.

7. Do not understand what "Sandbox Game" and "Linear Game" mean, and therefore, have no idea why people are calling Crysis 2, and Call of Duty style shooter when compared to the first.

8. Have no idea what they are talking about cause they are young and green about pc gaming.

9. Have no idea what they are talking about cause they are young and green about pc gaming.

10. Have no idea what they are talking about cause they are young and green about pc gaming.

Question: " What the **** is wrong with PC gamers nowdays?"

Answer: The once niche pc gaming genre is now getting all of its games stripped of quality to, in all truthfulness, be "Bastardized" (mass produced with less quality, and more quantity) for consoles now, due to consoles being mainstream, and the place where games sell tons more.

1. If another Halo (A very high selling popular 360 game) was chosen to be created on the Wii, and ported to 360, Xbox gamers would be PISSED.

2. If another God of War (A very high selling popular and very cool PS3 game) was chosen to be created on the Wii, and ported to PS3, Sony fans would be PISSED.

3. If Crysis 2 was chosen to be created on 360, and PS3, and then ported to the computer, PC fans would be PISSED.

#3 is a true story now unfortunately, and yes Crysis 2 is a console port. Anyone who plays console and pc games can tell that very easily by the frontend basic menu, the in-game tutorials that stop the player and tell them how to do something, and yes, the lack of highend textures at launch for the pc.

If people can't understand this anology, then I don't know how else to explain it to you.

indeed.. back in days there were bugs in game that 80% players were unaware of.. those miniscule bugs were so rare seeing.

now we pay 50€ for beta testing and the wors part of this is that depite this beta testing, some games even wont make out of beta stage.

and thats sad.

I would so want to see how xbox/ps3 market reacts when EVERY SINGLE anticipated game today gets ported from WII to them :D lol I would so lol my fckn ass off.. then you would understand PC gamers rage.

Things work perfectly fine on the first day.

I've been able to play several games of multiplayer and i'm half way through the single player.

What doesn't work, exactly?

Several players including myself cannot finish the Semper Fi or Die level due to an impassable bug, so no, things do not work perfectly fine on the first day. It's 9 day's in since the EU release, and I still cannot pass that level.

I don't actually mind, I just wish Crytek would at least tell us if they're working on the major game-breaking problems, rather than respond to all this DirectX11 malarkey.

Right reply to the general thread.

Firstly this is the kind of gamer I am (note the video itself is terrible, bad music backing bad FPS and quality, but it proves my point):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVyE9e9na8A

I remember getting to the point of 50% rail accuracy on a **** 200 DpI mouse in Q3, and generally have played quite a lot of FPS.

Now For most games that have come out, I'm as upset as the rest of you about the change in gaming towards more simplified 'I click the person's face/general area and they die', however the issue is people have stopped being upset about the gameplay, and now moved onto other silly things, people who obviously are either looking at their old games with rose coloured glasses, or didn't play them in the first place.

All games have bugs, take for instance the modern classic S.T.A.L.K.E.R, I couldn't actually physically finish that until about the 3rd or 4th patch due to the multitude of crashes and bugs. And yes there are cheaters, and compared to most games it is very simple to cheat, but at the same time THAT isn't anything new either. Now yes if this was 2 months+ after launch, the complaints would be valid, but this is 11-7 days, 11-7 days to do something that is very very complex.

Game development isn't about how bug free your 1.0 build is, but when the customers find those game breaking bugs (And they ALWAYS will) how well you deal with them, and less then one month just isn't enough time to judge.

And a quick thing, the textures thing is just smart optimization. To notice any difference you have to zoom in and place them side by side. In return for the very minor difference, you've reduced the RAM useage by a power of 2. Good texture creation isn't about making them all super OMG detailed, but making them as small as possible without people noticing.

Right reply to the general thread.

Firstly this is the kind of gamer I am (note the video itself is terrible, bad music backing bad FPS and quality, but it proves my point):

The bug issue I agree with you on. I haven't complained about them here cause I know they will be fixed eventually. I get sick of my Nano points being reduced to 0 everytime I start the game, but its still a fun game.

As for your texture comment, its prettymuch null and void at this point. I just bought a Nvidia 560GXT-Ti 1GB videocard 3 weeks ago, along with an i7 2600K processor, and other bells and whistles. With this new hardware, Crysis and Warhead play beautifully now.

Crysis 2 on extreme isn't even making my computer flinch and also plays very fluid now, but that means that there is plenty of overhead to up the graphics. This is why people are waiting for some sort of patch upgrade for graphics cause a lot of these new cards by Nvidia and ATI, are very powerful and were made for this very thing.
