Probably the landscape if the developers overdo it with the whole nord scene and make Skyrim 95% snow. If not, then nothing.

I shall miss the Imperials saying: "Oh... Hello :("

Edit:

And of course my Mythic Dawn shrine in the caverns by Lake Arrius.

I shall miss the Imperials saying: "Oh... Hello :("

I shall miss the Wes Johnson voiced Imperial guards screaming: "Stop right there, criminal scum!"

Now that is a quote that should be preserved in a "best Elder Scrolls quotes" list. Thinking back on it, Morrowind's guards (Indoril) had a memorable, menacing comment (...scum) and Daggerfall's had a hilariously annoying "halt" barrage attack. Arena's didn't have much going for them, but hopefully this is a trend I'm seeing here. I want Skyrim's guards to have their own awesome dialogue.

The already established, massive quantity of mods that will each take some time before being transferred to Skyrim, if at all.

What is there to miss in a game? Art direction and unique characters/dialogue is all that comes to mind? In that case, I'll miss Patrick Stewart in the beginning. I know that the environment will be much more dynamic and interesting then Oblivion's as they are adding more designers and going back to Morrowind-style hand placement of objects. As for dialogue, after Fallout 3 (a step in the right direction) and watching Obsidian handle New Vegas (which had excellent dialogue), I suspect that will improve as well. If they get rid of some of the summons, I'd miss that I suppose.

Spellmaking
But if I had to pick something only from Oblivion, I'd say Ayleid ruins. I liked the architecture...

Doomstones, birthsigns, and my Bruma house, but it's Skyrim, so some of the houses should be similar.

The world of Cyrodiil itself and the Shivering Isles. I can honestly say i enjoyed wandering around the Shivering Isles more than Cyrodiil. Oh and I can't forget to mention that I'll miss the brilliant Radiant AI, especially when I'm following an NPC and they stop randomly, turn around and walk 5 feet, and turn around again and continue their main course.

Off topic but I know from what we've seen and heard, as far as Skyrim's dynamic environments go, I don't think Oblivion will ever be in my 360 again after Skyrim is. It's one of the main reasons why I enjoy TES just because of the environments.

I don't think anything... They have either improved or not touched every part of the game. Other than actual characters or specific places, not a thing. Well, maybe the Shivering Isles. :D

Nothing, as I would be adding some music to Skyrim from Oblivion, Morrowind, and other games, that I want.

Aside from that, I would miss some really interesting mods, like the ones that changed the guard's behavior, so that they would follow you when you were sneaking around, or would accept bribes to leave their post, and so on...

There are a lot of great and interesting mods out there.

But for the actual game, they are improving any aspect of the game the way that I like them, and I would hate to go back from those improved mechanisms.

Good riddance Oblivion! All of the Oblivion-specific features that haven't been in other TES games and aren't in Skyrim were BAD. I will miss nothing exclusive to Oblivion.

EDIT: I sorta retract what I said, I was talking about game features, immersion, and gameplay there. Really, I'll miss a lot of characters I liked back while playing Oblivion.

Chorrol, I love that place, it's neat.

It was nice and roomy

1. Anvil - There was something about that place
2. Chorrol - Nice and qaint
3. Bruma - Loved the cabin feel
4. Cheydinhal - Had a tudor home feel
5. Skingrad - Biggest house and castle like architecture
6. Leyawiin - It rained all the time and I dislike beastfolk
7. Bravil - Everyone who lived there is either a murderer, theif or skooma addict
