What Things From Past Fallout Games Would You Like To See?

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 7:01 pm

I would love to see a production model of the MP-47/A Prototype Medic Power Armour... There was just something so darned funny about going into combat and your armour being more gung-ho than you are heh. It always made me grin when it called me a pansy.

I want to see http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Wanamingothose. They were barely in FO2.

Failing that I want to see Cazadors as the thing FO4 lifts from NV. Their drone was freakin intimidating and I was constantly spinning on the spot to see where they were. Increase their speed too.

I want to see riot gear, and maybe a hint of the conflict out west. I don't want to see the NCR or Legion as a major faction, but just an NPC or two to discuss them, and how things are out west, would be awesome. Maybe a Legion exile and an NCR deserter would be drinking buddies, would make for good additions to a bar. Then again, I don't know that Bethesda is even acknowledging New Vegas' existence.

Wattz series laser weaponry. I like the AER series, but now that I'm playing Fallout 1, I find it odd that the other type has completely disappeared.

Turnbased combat, the original character skill based gameplay and the design ideal of persistent choice and consequence, or at least a heavy leaning towards those within the confines of the current design (something akin to Morrowind). Of course I won't, but I'd like to. Items, NPC's or critters and other such minor curiosities mean little.

Arrrghhh... If there was one thing that scared me in NV it was the darn Cazador.... Not one or two but when they were in a swarm. In fact I think I was more intimidated by Cazadors than I was the Deathclaws. I know the trick was to snipe them from distance but it was getting poisoned that scared me. I made sure I had enough antivenom when I was in areas that were Cazador heavy.

I'm not sure they would be as scary in Fallout 4 though... You see half the scare was trying to aim at them and they were skipping around in the sky. With Fallout 4's better aiming system it would make them easier to hit. Hence, less scary!

You simply change the environment. Use them in an underground envrionment. Less space to hide, less reaction time to VATS. A lot more player deaths!

I often found them coming out of the ground in VEgas.. esp in the mountain ranges.

The first time I came across the Cazzies was when I was about to lift the bomber from the bottom of the lake and then... what was that???... I spotted something in the buildings near the ramp and then... ARRRGH... Brown trouser time and my character running for his life. lol.

I found them after I visited the Cross Memorial north of Goodsprings. (No idea still if that memorial is part of any quest). I found a valley with some blind ends full of Giant Radscorpions who I bested after using some very sharp inclines. I decided to press my luck and walk North eventually finding the Stay out Deathclaws signs. Steering clear of them I went a different direction and saw some small things with wings... who were suddenly all around me stabbing me. 4 on one didnt help.

After that I signed up to the quest railroad and went via Primm.

A gamble option with certain traders. Instead of paying for the item, try your luck to obtain it. I enjoyed doing that in tactics

turnbased combat only works if you have a top down view type of game like the original , froma first person perspective it will completely kill any ammersion

skillpoints , dumping x amountr of skill points in what are a coollection of just generic skills was fumb and was in dire need of replacements , it never allowed for specialization by level 25 every character basicle had the same stats with some minor difference in perks and also pretty open to abuse

There are first person games with turnbased combat - Wizardry 8 for example, Might and Magic 6 (their respective series'); and Bethesda already had the basics covered in their vats system (poor as it was, it still had the potential to be molded into something proper).

I don't really care much about what "immersion" is; for anyone, with its different meanings. If the game is interesting to play, that's enough for me.

Turn-based combat, isometric view, skills, a SPECIAL stat system which is fixed after character creation, map node system, barely any voice acted dialogue, lore consistency.

But on a more realistic note, the M72 Gauss Rifle as well as the Wattz series'.

- Talking Deathclaws.

- Nods to NV.

- Riot Gear.

- Tabitha and Rhonda XD

- All Power Armor types seen so far to make an appearence.

- Eyebot companion.

Stupid NPCs - love it when I see Wastelanders with a tyre iron charging a deathclaw or a random NPC just standing around staring into space. For sure some of this may be bad programming but I'd like to think there are also some people that are just stupid and behave accordingly.

Aliens. :P

In all seriousness, I'd love to see Hellfire Power Armor come back. And some of the DLC weapons from New Vegas, like the LAER.

Yeah. :sadvaultboy:

Spoiler
Mods'll fix it.

Aside:

  • Boxing rings with noticeable changes in NPCs that recognize your PC from their ring exploits.
  • NPCs with formidable personalities.
  • Situational perks that come of unusual choices or behaviors.
  • Fast Shot perk that disables VATS.
  • Something on par with the Modoc toilet.
  • Retconning FO3's Harold as having been one of the many mutant seeds from Bob, that got planted and grew into anthropomorphic tree men; part tree, and part Harold.
  • Harold [Fallout's Elmister ~of a sort.]

If Fallout Shelter is anything to go by, they don't need it. They are so fast they go from first date to pregnant in 20 seconds lol.
