What I think about Brink.

So, I've played the game for two days, and I have some conclusions about it.

The Good:
~The game encourages teamwork, and there are no annoying weapon/skill balance issues.
~Art style is awesome.
~Superior levels of customization, with a few things I didn't like: They overhyped the amount of customization options, Archetype and tattoos/scarring are permanent.
~Game runs smooth on my PC. I've heard some people had lag issues, but I'm not getting any sort of lag.
~The sound quality is amazing, every gunshot, every yell, every footstep is crystal clear.
~The setting is one of the coolest I have seen this year. Breathtaking, attention grabbing, and not too far-fetched.
~S.M.A.R.T. works well in most places.

The Bad:
~Unsatisfying Singleplayer, with very small amounts of plot and characters. It is also very short and disappointing. I really hoped for a bigger, more epic storyline for all the time they spent on this game.
~[censored] bots. The bot AI is either very VERY bad, getting stuck on small objects, ignoring me when they're a Medic, failing to do objectives and so on.
~A few graphical errors. Some of the textures on this game look underpolished, and a lot of them are recycled.
~Some places 'encourage' S.M.A.R.T. but are hard to get to.
~'Canned' Animations. SD seems to have broken on of it's rules here, and many of the S.M.A.R.T. animations are canned. As well as that horrible death animation.
~Leveling seems to happen too fast, limiting the amount of time spent in the euphoria of watching your character grow.
~Lack of Females. For the amount of customization content, there is no way I'm buying that 'Not enough time, not enough money.' Bulls**t.

My final score: 8/10. If I were rating for the Singleplayer, I'd give it a 6/10.

That's my views on the game, if you have any feedback (Which you probably do.) please leave a comment.

Thats about what I would give it too but 2/10 for single player.

Edit:Do females really matter that much? I view it as more of a preference like. "Yea I want it but I would rather have an AK-47 if I had to chose".

I admit I was disappointed about the singleplayer as well, but 2 seems like an unfair rating.

What's so horrible about it? I know how bad it is, but could you explain further?

My character is hardly involved,I thought we would talk more and be invoked into the game. I also just don't like the security leader's demeanor. I almost feel like the setting is nice but I don't care about either side enough to pay attention. They could have removed the setup scenes with the soldiers and just had a 10 min intro for each side and that would have been enough for me.

Edit: I wish they had written a better back story. Like how did these people become leaders? How did the refugees know where to find the ark? They also need better voice actors,I cant understand a [censored] word the security leader says because of his South African accent.

Well, since the singleplayer IS the multiplayer having at least some plot is good! With this mingleplayer I still would've liked just a little more cut-scenes with the captain dude and Chen

i dont care about bots, i dont care about single player. What I do care about is not being able to play even a 5 v 5 because of crippling lag on 360 and the game looks like it should be on n64 half the time and xbox one the other half wtf

Entire game deserves a 6/10, wasn't worth the 50 dollars I paid for it. I was really disappointed.

By the Goddess it's a bonafide objective review. Been waiting for one of these to crop up amongst the "This game is the devil" and "This is game is fantastic, you just aren't trying hard enough" nonsense. Great and well constructed thoughts, TwoGunWolf, though I do have a question if you don't mind. Most of your bullets on the con side of things strike me as more elaborate and influential to gameplay, plus they numerically equal the positives. I'm under the impression an 8.0 title would have something holding it back from greatness, but with a laundry list of problems like that don't you think that's a bit generous? Or is there an underlying and relatively indescribable "fun factor" at play that inflates the verdict? Honestly I hope it's the latter; I have yet to play and negativity abounds around the Net regarding this IP.

I'd just like to point out that SMART is technically just training wheels for parkouring. I've played it almost non-stop and when SMARTing it may seem difficult and slightly slow reaching that high point on a map, but once you've mastered pressing the jump and slide button in correct timing it seems your actually twice as fast if you just smarted your way up there.

I might be biased but you're right, Brink is just too fun to give a low score, there are some problems but none of them are gamebreaking.
Well besides the lag, but thats happened to me about as much as it has in other games.
