A toaster. Because everyone knows toasters are just death rays at a lower power level.
10,000 Muggys armed with fat mans for long range, and shiskabobs for kneecap attacks. Any survivors will be driven insane by the compounded neuroses.
Seriously, hope I can reclaim a vault or underground bunker of some type, with beefed up sentrybots standing as guards. Not really interested in old tin shack revisions...
I'm probably going to build a flamethrower in the shape of a certain male genitalia and name it the Gone-orrhea because I'm really mature.
Turrets mostly, probably a barbecue pit, mostly just want competent people to be able to defend it.
Walls. Tall strong walls, with tall strong gates. I'm making Megaton 2.0 - but cleaner. No raiders, no mole rats, no creepers, no skelly-mens. I want to be sniping from the paraqets or, more often, just straight up ignoring feeble attempts at invasion.
If they decide to just set the spawn points inside those walls, and undo the entire f-ing point of having f-ing walls, I am NOT gonna be happy.
As for my personal house, I hope I can build one WITHOUT it become a settlement. I like player housing to be cosy, isolated, even hidden. If all the available building locations will regularly spawn travellers, raiders and more - despite being off in the middle of nowhere and hidden in a crevice - I am just going to use the GECK to make a house where mobs will leave me the hell alone. Having some wildlife wander over from time to time I could maybe understand, but most of the wasteland should be just that. Not full of hunting bands that always magically know where I live. I like my defence to be modesty and isolation.
Sentry bots have this too. Remember having an mod in Fallout 3 who let me restore and turn robots, nice to leave some at open settlements for protection.
Also at common used fast travel locations who could spawn enemies.
I want a few those Sentry Siege-Breaker bad boys. With a Mr. Gutsy hovering around barking orders and motivating all my lazy townsfolk to get off their asses and fight.
short walls that are easily jumpable but are just high enough to hide the deep spike pit on the otherside
100mt yeild bomb on a dead man switch Burried just under the surface along with a lot of Gold Zinc and Cobalt......
and in case thats not enough deturent, automatic fatman launchers morters cannons and flame throwers.
I like many of those posted already. Also someone from my other thread mentioned a Mirelurk-moat, I thought that was a pretty sweet idea. Also love the idea of making a maze as already mentioned.
My idea:
Deathclaw in a cage/pen which can be remotely released when attacked. If possible, also feed in psycho, jet and med-x before releasing it.
It would also be fun if we could augment super mutants with mind-control chips and modify them with implents. I want a super mutant terminator!
Level 1 Defense: 10 Radroaches with nuka-grenades strapped to there bodies (detonation when health is less than 25%).
Level 2 Defense: 5 Giant ants with bottlecap mines strapped to there bodies (remote control detonation).
Level 3 Defense: 3 Kamikaze Deathclaws with mini-nukes strapped to there bodies (detonation on contact).
the town building feature, did anyone here even have it on their top 5 hopes for fallout 4? before we found out.
Love this one lol. Deathclaw with mini-nukes, ultimate war-weapon.
Walls. Tall ones.
And freaking mortars. That mortar that we saw on the video? I love that one.
A single elderly woman, armed with a walking stick. She will shout obscenities at interlopers, which will alert me like a useful guard dog.
I was expecting Fallout 3 HD with some Hearthfire house choices and some New Vegas weapon modding, but I didn't expect anything like they've shown. I really hope they can pull this off.
I love the idea of building my own settlements. But it will all be for nothing if the game does not throw the right kind of random assaults on you (preferably when you're absent). That way you could be on a quest when you receive a distress call on your pip boy from whoever you left in charge, then have to decide whether to turn back to help or just give instructions and leave them to fight it out themselves. It would also vindicate the soundness of your defense strategy, depending on where on the map your base is.
There should also be an option to interview potential followers in case they turn out to be spies.
