What type of mods are you looking forward to?

Some things I'm pretty sure Skyrim wont have and I'll have to download or make myself.

I've always enjoyed the housing mods, especially a nice castle. Whatever the game is like, there will always be room for those, I'm sure.

Mods have spoiled me. I have Oblivion for both PC and XBox, and I find it painful to play the console version, simply because I miss all the changes applied to my PC game.

Just like Oblivion, I'll play through at least once without mods. From there, I tend to mod the game more than I even play it.

I'm going to try as hard as I can to play through the whole thing without any mods. I mean I did it with Oblivion, but that was on console, and for Morrowind I didn't know about mods when I played that at first.

It's going to be tough, but I think I can handle a vanilla Beth game again. I really only add mods to extend the life of the game really anyways.

I'll use any mod that makes the game feel more "right" to me, regardless of how it affects difficulty and balance.
I'll also use any mods that pay attention to the fine details, or something like the Book Jackets mod for Oblivion, that just make the game both cooler and somewhat nicer to play.

An UI mod. :P

Other than that, we'll have to wait and see what we get first. No need for Unique Landscapes if the landscape is already fairly unique.

Looking for the game to come out first then I can make up my mind about what mods I would want.

I wouldn't mind taking a crack at textures for Skyrim. I really hope they add reflection mapping/environment mapping along with bump and gloss maps.

Since before Morrowind was released, I've wanted an owl pet mod. Sitting there on the shoulder, and when we meet some enemy he fly around and distract the enemy and so on. It would have been cool B) I tried to make this for MW, but didn't really get very far :P

Or maybe a Northern Goshawk instead.

I have been wanting to develop a total conversion since I first found Morrowind, and I almost started in Oblivion. I didn't though, and I thought "I will wait till the next Elder Scrolls game comes out" and so I have been. I am glad that I did this because a lot of the stuff I want to be able to utilize in the game just wasn't at the level I wanted it to be, and now it looks like I will be able to do everything I want.

Plus, i'm no graphics designer and I prefer to use the textures within the game already, and the setting of skyrim is perfect for creating my world. So after a thorough playthrough, that is what I will be obsessing over :)

World expansion mods (new locations) and at least a rudimentary climbing system.

Graphics mods!!! I cant play oblivion without screen effects to make things more saturated + higher contrast.
Then landscapes/revamped cities.
Clothes mods. Love. Clothes mods.
Big quest mods like The Lost Spires.
Lastly the little things. I dont care much for overhaul mods, I tried but its too much a pain for what its worth. (former FCOM user).

Robe/dress mods. I always roll a mage of some sort and like having an awesome robe or dress that is practical and suites the character. The stuff in Oblivion was too bland and mods didn't help in the least.

Apart from graphic improvement mods, I'm looking towards inmersion mods, and to be able to do much more in-game rather than combat (the ability to buld things, improved and more advanced crafting/cooking/etc, being able to run your own business...). Everything non-combat related is good. Bethesda has improved that aspect, but I've a feeling it won't be enough.

Ah, and any "let any other NPC be "the Dovakhiin" MQ-skipper, so you can live as a normal person :)

I don't know tbh.

More than likely I'll wait at least a few months or far longer if the game is choc full of content.
If some mods come along to add races at least based on TeS ones, or that add the different sub species I'll probably look at those.
Spell mods unless the magic is perfect for my tastes.
Improved cities again mostly if the areas are not to my tastes.
If someone comes up with great quest mods that fit the style of the TeS world those.

Improved spawns or overhauls if I start to feel that certain things again are not to my tastes.

However I'm not a mass mod user, the highest I've ever run is around 12 - 15 and that's on Oblivion.

An Eat/Sleep/Drink mod, because even if bethesda implements it, it most likely won't be to my taste.

That's what it comes down to - I have my tastes, and while they're close to the average of bethesda's fanbase, they're not the same. So, mods to take skyrim and pull it more in line with my tastes.

Improved hair / skin / eye texture mods.

After that, fixes for the little annoyances & problems. (Like, in Oblivion, every install includes little mods like Shorter Grass, no enchantment saran-wrap-glow, Oblivion gate map markers go away when you close the gate, DaRN UI.... stuff like that.)

Of course, all of that (plus stuff like replacement bodies/etc) will all depend on how the vanilla game is. Gotta see what it's like before you can tell if you'd prefer anything changed. :)

I *really* hope there's no need for an invisible-wall-removal mod a la the mountains in New Vegas.

The only thing limiting my ability to traverse steep mountain sides better be the good old laws of physics. Moreover, my most wanted mod would be ice picks that allow me to climb anywhere.

- Morrowind transportation system mod.

- No HUD at all (= no HUD-pop-up at any time). Instead, have immersive health indicators like blur when health is low, etc.

- Removal of any quest markers or anything alike, if that for some strange reason is included.

- Graphics enhancers. Both textures and major enhancement (graphics extender mods). I hope for something as major as MGE for Skyrim.

- hardcoe mods.
