What types of films do you have a weakness for?

So, what genres of films do you have a weakness for? For me, a lot of people seem indifferent to them but I love old westerns (Both, survival on the frontiers and outlaws/fighting kinds) and gangster/bank robber and crime movies. It's hard to say why, but those two are something I'm a huge svcker for. I also enjoy classic 1930s, 1940s and some 1950s films. I love watching those old movies because there's a certain nostalgic feel to them and the writing in them is always really good in my opinion. Anyway, what types of films are you a huge fan of?

(Note: I shouldn't have to say this, but let's leave talk about pormography out of this please.)

porm. You don't get off that easy.

Honestly though, pure action anime films and series. Even though the plot is usually weak and I normally really appreciate a good story. Sometimes I like going OOOOOOHH AAAAAAHHHHHHH as a big fight scene takes place. I try to keep myself easily amused. Bleach is a good example. I could care less about its plot most of the time, I just want to see the Captains duking it out.

Historic/Mythological Films also tickle my amusemant bone.

advlt? I dunno what else I could mention. Nothing in the movies will get me excited anymore. I don't even think I would get excited about a Legacy of Kain movie, and I LOVE LoK.

Black and white movies. Since censorship was a major thing back then, films had to have screen writers that knew how to engage an audience.

Then the 50s came along, and everything went to hell.

I love Godzilla films too. I always thought it was so cool watching Godzilla fight all those monsters.

Victorian romance (don't look at me like that, I'm a chick) and I love me some old movies too- especially musicals - my favorite would probably be Guys and Dolls.

Anything with monsters. Horror films, fantasy films, sci-fi films, kaiju films...if the effects for the monsters are good, or at least entertainingly cheesy, I'm game.

Just eight more days, and Big G makes his comeback!

Just like you Colonel mine are westerns and gangster flicks. I often wonder why there are few decent westerns as of late. Not like the over done Hollywood poop Lone Ranger, but more serious R rated ones.

I kind of don't want to see more Westerns. There's a superfluity of them thanks to their popularity in the 40s, 50s and their decline in the 60s. And most of the indie Westerns from the 70s? Ohhhhh, those are generally horrible 'white guilt' garbage.

Pacific Rim had to give you as much of an erection as it did for me, then.

Anyways, I dunno that I have a weakness for any one genre... I always have a soft spot for sci fi, though. And admittedly, I don't think I could ever get tired of a good spy/espionage/thriller flick.

I really like Westerns, unfortunately a lot to most of the older ones are fairly racist which makes them kind of hard to watch but I still like the genre as a whole.

I saw a movie like that recently, called "Apache Blood". It was a masterpiece. I assume you haven't seen it though.

OT: Westerns. I find western settings to be nostalgic for some reason. They're cool, yo.

I'm surprised Disney could bring back pirates but not western... I would've thought western would be an easier think to bring back but I guess I was wrong.

Pacific Rim was awesomesauce, still waiting for them to announce the sequel!

I think the last good western was The Shootist. Maybe Unforgiven, but I thought The Shootist was quite a bit better than Unforgiven.

I really like german expressionist films (is it possible to say that sentence without sounding like a complete [censored]? don't think so), particularly metropolis. It still remains visually impressive even 90 years later, in its own way

Mystery, Sci-Fi and 90's films in general.

Mystery films tickle my brain into actually thinking about what is going on and can challenge me to think outside the box, even after the film is finished.

Sci-Fi films can be so alien in their culture, technology and ideologies and I find those things ingruiging.

And what about 90's films? I don't know really. I was born in 1990 so I technically grew up in the 90's and it feels like a large part of me identify with that decade and by the time that the millenia rolled around I've started to feel more and more lost as time goes on. Films and tv-series set in the 90's feel familiar to me. They feel like home for some reason. It doesn't matter if it is a horror film or a comedy or a drama, so long as it is set in the 90's and just reeks of 90's culture then I'll sigh and wonder why I couldn't have been born in 1980 so that I could experience the 90's as a teenager growing up.

Old people kicking ass. Like Harry Brown or Gran Torino. An accurate live action portrayal of Dark Knight Returns would be something of a wet dream. I like westerns too. And Unforgiven has both!
