I saw a pet and have no idea what skill line can summon it, it was kind of a raptorish dinosaur thing with a transverse crest on the head. What was it?

Clannfear. It's a morph of the standard Familiar pet in the Daedric Summoning tree. Once you get the Familiar skill to level 4, you can spend a point to either make it the Clannfear or a larger Familiar that explodes when it dies. Personally, I much prefer the Clannfear. It's reasonably tanky and has an aoe attack.

You mean a Clanfear? Sorcerer's summon them, it's a skill you morph from the familiar ability.
