What was your favorite thing?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:29 pm

I'm sure most people on this board are like me and have watched the video 10,000 times by now. I just watched the IGN breakdown of the video and noticed some new things for the first time. Of all the many things that I liked in the video I have to say that my favorite thing, without question is the short clip of the axe hitting an enemy and his head snapping back, and possibly off. I've been clamoring for dismemberment since I heard about Skyrim and that looked like it might be the closest thing to it. It is very difficult to tell what exactly happens to the enemy's head in that video but nonetheless its better than what happened in Oblivion. What are some of your favorite things in the video? Also, do you think that the fighting of dragons will actually be like it is depicted in the video or do you think Bethesda did that for cinematic purposes? In other words do you think we'll actually slash dragons in the face and cause their heads to snap back? At the same time, I wonder what it will be like if we are archers. How do they fight dragons?

Not sure about the whole dragon thing, we'll have to wait for more info.

But my favorite thing from the video is the assassin who sneaks up on the guy in front of the fire and slits his throat.

Finally! Good and proper stealth kills!

I liked the new Ebony/Elven armour that we saw with the guy about to fight the Ice Wraiths. That and the Dragon Shout.

I just dig it when Max von Sydow says "...when it dawnes, it dawns in FIRE!"

It's so cool that he's in the game.

I guess I'm the only one who thought the shout was cheesy. =/

I really liked the wildlife. I saw birds, deer, and a wolf. Lone wolf is kind of odd, but maybe he killed the rest of the pack already?

Also, the narrator and music was quite good.

All of it , but what drew my attension in particular was the fire spell , Dragon's and the artistic design (open layout) and epic scale of the cities. :D

By far, I am most stoked about the stealth kills. The revamped archery is an extremely close second-place.

I've been going through the video frame-by-frame just to see what I can pick up, and the detail on all the NPCs, armor, weapons and stuff is just beautiful, it's all so immersive!

I liked the shout a lot, but what I loved the most was how brutal the combat looks in this game. Great weapon impacts and sounds effects. I watched the trailer at half speed... the narrator sounded drunk

I completely agree, but there's nothing I saw in the trailer that I'm not excited about!

I really liked that brown robe; now my mage (though I rarely play pure spellcasters) doesn't have to look like a [censored] tent anymore:D

+ landscape of course with buildings :)

I saw that too = complements of a Mr. named Worm? Not sure. I liked the panting while running - of course all of it was great, but that was one of the little details I didn't expect to see.

Favorite part of the trailer for me was the music. It was like a strange combo of a new sound, Rise of the Septims, and Nerevar Rising.

The steadying hand and near stumble as you near the edge of the cliff. I know I′m not gonna be able to see my feet in game, it′s too much to hope for, but that kind of thing makes it so much more immersive. That and burying your axe in an enemy′s skull. You can feel it as he pulls it out. Brutal!

I really liked the part where the narrator says "But there is one they fear, in their tongue he is Dovakhin- Dragonborn!" and then the Elder Scrolls theme kicks in, gives me shivers!

Way too many choices, if I had to pick one it's the Assassin using the knife on the guys throat.

The hunting scene in the woods. The lighting/shadows looked great. Nice detail.

Max Von Sydow is Amazing. I also liked what looked like better spell effects, and the clear inclusion of a wider variety of more impressive looking monsters.
