what weapon/body type/class combination are you going

Post » Fri Mar 12, 2010 4:28 am

Having access to all weapons and a better health must give you some drawbacks as well. In BRINK, it's agility.

However, teamplay is important as well, so most likely people will stick together whatever body-type they play. But while lights can conquer advanced positions earlier, heavies will have it easier to attack/defend these.

I was wondering something about heavies now that it is brought up. Will heavies really be the last ones to the party because they are the slowest yet wouldn't a team want the heavies to be in front of most of the action to take most of the damage. If they are slow they would only be good on the defensive team wouldn't they?

Lights will be able to maneuver around the frontlines quickly, which could be useful for any of the classes, either getting to locations faster, or running around to buff teammates. Heavies will be very useful for defending and pushing, which becomes very important when you come up against an enemy team that's working together in a strong position. Medium players will strike a balance, being able to respond faster than heavies while having more firepower and being less fragile than a light.

Oh ok that makes a lot of sense. Thnx for the explanation!

Pity the heavies will always be late to the party.

So are strippers, are you saying they don't make a difference?

Not at all. Strippers would make all the difference.

Can't use an assault rifle as a light.

I'll probably start out with a medium medic/engineer with a shotgun and smg to learn the basics, move onto a light operative with an smg/light rifle and a machine pistol, and my third character will be the stereotypical heavy soldier w/ minigun and shotgun.

Weapon: LIGHT RIFLE WITH MACHINE PISTOL
Body: LIGHT
Class: OPERATIVE

I WANTED A LIGHT OPERATIVE SO I CAN CLIMB WAY HIGHER THAN ANYONE ELSE CAN AND SHOT THEM WITH A RIFLE OR SMG.

I want to run primarily as an Operative, mostly due to my love of playing Spy in TF2, and I'm going to keep him with really light weapons to keep myself agile. I like speed.

Well, after playing TF2 for a few weeks, i have found that i have a total lack of skill when it comes to being a spy, so i may just stick with a heavy Medic, Auto-Shotty/Assualt Rifle. The auto-shotty will of course be to say "Get the hell away from my patient."

I also like the idea of a medium solider (big enough to carry more than an SMG, but small enough to get around), and since you have to unlock the other two body types, that will probobally be my first character, using Assault rifle/SMG or Shotty/Short Rifle depending on the map.

However, I may just make my first character a generalist, and change class to whatever needs to be done.

Light operatives can just stand behind the heavys (AKA ablative armour) then peel off to get to their hiding place, then spend the rest of the game thinking they are well ninja...

Going to play as a Light Operative (I want the full SMART button experience if you will)

Would love for my Secondary to be the Caesar Revolver, and for a nice Primary thinking of a light short rifle such as the Drognav.

My first pick would be a Medium Soldier, with an Assault Rifle and SMG.

I think, actually I'm positive, my next class will be a Light Operative, equipped with a Light Rifle (attach a scope later on), and possibly a Revolver? I believe those are possible for the Light bodied characters, yes?

Another would be a Heavy Soldier, Grenade Launcher and Medium Shotgun(?) pumping out explosives out the ass :nuke: .

Finally, I'd make two Medic Classes. One Heavy, to be able to toss a Revive Needle to a buddy who had the unlikely fate of dying RIGHT in the middle of a gunfight, right under the crossfire. And a Light, so I'd be able to run in, heal, run in, heal, and tag the guy that may of returned to finish off my ally.

All your weapon choices are possible, but backstabbing is only possible with an operative. With a light medic, you will just have to make due with getting behind people and lighting them up with an SMG.

Edit: On second look though, you would be better off using an SMG with your medium soldier, the machine pistols are mainly for light players.

I'll certainly start with a medium build of some type, probably all the classes, that way im not restricted from too many weapons nor am i restricted from SMART as much either. Eventually I move on to the more specialized light/heavy bodies.

That sounds like a good idea. Play the field and have a jack of all trades before you get into specialized class and body types. I might just steal your idea there, good sir.

As it currently stands, we'll all go that way, because we can only play medium body-types in the beginning.

Yes, but someone could build up a medium soldier, engie, medic, or operative. My point was to have a diversified character that I can switch classes out at will.

I've had the intent of making a generalist for a while now. Best way to learn what classes you like.
