What Weapon Set do you Favor and Why?

Post » Sun Feb 16, 2014 2:40 pm

As the topic states, what weapon set do you plan to start with?

I really enjoyed my 2H Nightblade with a Siphon Focus, but also tore stuff up with my Bow Wielding Aedric Spear Templar.

Has anyone tried dual daggers? Curious to see how well daggers work in ESO because the thought of a Templar in Heavy Armor, with 2 daggers and lightning spears just seems badass to me (Redguard of course to make up for lack of stam skills in heavy armor).

So, what does everyone here plan to play, and why? Also, if you have Beta experience tell us about it!

duel wield daggers.

My Favorite! this dagger here -> http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Cruel_Flameblade was not extreme in damage but boy i love the way it looked in my hands in morrowind.

but i did love the daedric daggers like the one from morrowind.

I've always been an ranger class, in all my old games....from Baldurs gate, Neverwinter Nights, WoW, Aion, Rift, Diablo.....its just my prefered style of combat.

Although, I have found as time goes on, the idea behind being a ranger gets lost and becomes a case of meta gaming to survive.

Eso seems to have that right balance in the beta...whether that will be changed, I have no idea.

Ice destruction staff as main weapon because I like frost spells, weapon and shield as secondary set for PvP.

Planning to go light armor Templar dd / healer.

If you like bow and are looking for something different you should try out Bow Templar. Their Aedric spear line does good damage, and has some knockbacks. Synergizes real well with the bow skills. Plus tossing lightning spears looks badass lol.

I like to typically play tank type characters in MMOs, so got to go with the old 1-hand + shield. I'm liking the sound of a mace to go with.

As it stands right now, I am probably going to be a 2 Hander Orc Templar. I suspect the Orc sprinting racial will be key to chasing down runners in PVP, and how to get away when my ass is getting whooped, LOL.

I started making a templar/archer in the 2nd beta (2nd character), but primarily trying out the healing trees.

I only got him to level 6, before deciding to spend the rest o fthe time I had trying to meet the Beta requests (dungeon, PVP & crafting). So I switched back to my original character and did that.

So I didn't get to test that build as much...tbh, you would need a week per build to get a decent idea of what was happening with it. And because there are so many combinations, it would take a very long to to figure out what a preference might be.

But somewhere in the back of my mind, it felt wrong (easy with heals), but it felt as if his stealth wasn't as good as the Nighblade. Its not true of course, unless you opt for specific nighblade skills (shadowy Disguise for an initial strike from stealth).

Yea for sure, with all the combo's I will be spending a lot of time after launch trying to figure out exactly what playstyle will suit me best heh. With my templar I didn't touch heals at all, was purely DPS and it beat my NB by a longshot in that department heh.
